Request for 3rd Gen ideas from Emblempros
On LS1.com forums, I've been reading through a thread by Emblempros.com who make some amazing appearance parts for late model F-bodies. http://www.emblempros.com/ I commented on how it is hard to find thirdgen related parts and their man Roger is interested in starting up making pieces for this market. Here is the thread: http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115981 So not speaking for the group,if there are any ideas for emblems or fabrications this appears to be a good place to start.

Agreed, I've seen a set of GTA emblems they made and it looked pretty amazing. They seem easy to work with and limited only by what can be thought of.

I'd buy a stencil or dry tranfer or decal that said "AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE" to replace the worn off one on my console.

Re: Request for 3rd Gen ideas from Emblempros
here's stuff off the top of my head, they may or may not already exist.
-Guage overlays
-As mentioned above, something for the automatic transmission gear indicator. possibly one for manuals too
-Rocker,Bumper, dash badges.
-engine bay labels like the 4th gens, but for us. i know after ~20 years many become crappy.
for those with the stock Z28 hood. maybe taking out the two flaps/louvers and put little grilles in there. its an idea i had for a while.
- switchplates for our ashtray.
-hydrocoated parts
-Guage overlays

This is the response from Roger at Emplempros:
Much of these items can be done, in high quality.
What I need are volunteers to give me dimensions, and verify fitments.
As long as we can get to that point. We are golden, for making many of these right away.
We do not own every car we sell parts for, and a fitment project with the customer is a good way to get it done.
Also if there is anyone close to Lexington, and they can bring a car by, I can quickly get many of the dimensions myself.
I am ready, when you guys are.

a stencil or dry tranfer or decal that said "AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE" to replace the worn off one on my console. Just a picture and dimensions would be fine.
-Guage overlays Not sure about these yet.

Re: Request for 3rd Gen ideas from Emblempros
I went on their site looking for the hood grilles they already make, I did not see them on the site. BUT, what I did find that I liked a lot was the ashtray switchplates!! I have been trying to fabricate one up in my spare time for electronic cutout and line lock. I hacked up a spare ash tray and was going to do something similar, but no matter what I would have done, it would not have looked as nice as the ones they have on their site. To have one made for the third gen ash tray between the shifter and the radio (in the console), would be excellent!

Well i did see a bunch of taillights in he back of this one camaro until i blew up the back window with my crow bar and hit most of them on accident. Lol The hatch in the back was locked and had no way in getting into the back. Also gt a bottle jack and crowbar.
End of that story.

I wouldn't mind having a set of new gel emblems made for the door handles but with custom wording for those of us that would like it to say "LS1" "turbocharged" or "supercharged" etc. Would be a neat touch I think.

I think it would be cool to include some of the V6 guys in on this one, I for one would buy an emblem to replace the "camaro" or "RS" ground effect emblem for 2.8L, 3.1L, 3.4L, or 3.8L with the option to have T, TT, or SC in front.

Re: Request for 3rd Gen ideas from Emblempros
Hey guys.
If you want emblems I can get you whatever you want.
They would be approx. 4mm thick with or without studs made of the highest quality zinc available! Zinc to my knowledge doesn't rust either! Your choice of plating etc.
Can be polished plain, painted, polished nickel, chrome, or 24kt gold.
They can also be engraved with a textured background that would give them a "gold nugget" look when plated in 24kt gold.
They wouldn't be cheap though. A 24kt plated gold GTA emblem set would run 400-500 bucks with multiple studs to deter antitheft.
Nickel would be cheaper and painted would be even more cheaper.
These would be considered a high end option, more of a custom route deal.
If your interested in having some custom emblems made or something your interested in just hit me up at iconbadgta@yahoo.com and I will help you all I can!
