YEH,not $140 like some I see.I got mine from rpm overlays for 15 dollars, free shipping.I had to trim overlay to fit,but it wasnt even close to $100 in work. This guy sells these things this cheap, because they cost almost nothing to make, and he still makes his profit.I am so tired of people making something they know people want and inflating the price, then they call themselves car guys, more like rip-off artist.I am sure the MAC.overlays look good, and I bet for all you who have paid $140, your overlays look better then mine too.If I paid that much I would say the same thing so its ok.Stop supporting rip-offs. link to site can be found at gt350mustang.com,just a gate to get to site, nobody will know you went there.thanks
Show us a good picture of the actual install on your car.
From their website, the gauge colors look incorrect. Also, they say they are "self-stick adhesive overlays". That means if you get the overlay slightly offcenter, you're screwed. Peeling them off would most likeley damage the overlay. And they don't say what they are made of. From the website, it looks as if they may be merely printed on card stock.
You get what you pay for. In the case of Macewen gauge overlays, you get the best quality available, for less than the other retailers charge. You also get ease of assembly, and the option to remove them at any time without damage to the overlays or your factory gauges. I would not use a self sticking adhesive backed overlay on my gauges. And if they are printed on card stock, just wait till the weather turns damp, LOL. Also, like I said the colors are bogus, at least on the webpage.
first ,you can get them in self stick or not, second, your comments are just what i expected from someone who paId what you did.as i said im sure the mac.units look good, but do they look $100 better,I think not.I dont have A picture, but know they look good.no picture will show a white object thats lighted at its best, you have to see them.and no I dont work for them,im just not rich.
and yes people get mad when they pay to much for something! I did say im sure they look good.and I did have to do some triming and fitting.go to any print shop, use the finest grade paper, and make alot more then one set for $100.Unless he developed some new tech.in the printing industry, his process is nothing new.Maybe they do look better then mine, but for 15 bucks and about 30 minutes I dont see how you can go wrong.....and you havnt used that chrome spraypaint, right?
