| Mini-ram Manifold back when i bought my mini ram about 5 months ago
i still had the original L98 cast iron heads on my t/a
and was told it would work fine w/my stock heads.
(as it should - all small chevys same since 70's)
after installing the mini ram i noticed coolant loss
(couldnt believe it was the intake - ive done intakes loades
of times and never had one leak)
upon removing manifold i noticed the bottom of the gasket around the water port had never been touched - their water port was cut to long and actually went below the sealing surface of my heads.the problem was the mini ram was designed around aluminum heads which have more surface below the port as opposed to my stock that only have about 1/4 of an inch - alum.
and most after markets have about 1/2 inch. after days of argueing w/techs and having them tell me i was more or less stupid . i insisted they find a set of cast iron l98's .
after they did,the response was OHHHHHHHH S....
even after admitting to there being a problem w/their intake
i had myron tell me they will give me nothing for my bad bearing, scored crand, cylinder walls ect.
after getting all of my documentation, pictures, measurement, and statement from a machine shop .
well the second time myron was much nicer to me and ask what it would take to make things .
well he did make things more right and im glad for that - i still took a big loss for time and money. but TPIS does have a great tech staff that is very helpful and experienced and i am happy to deal w/them now and im sure they have fixed their problem i hope. all in all i think they are good people.
