[LT1] Any reason why I can't block heater core?

I'm nearing the end of a long conversion project using the LT1 intake. I'm not sure at this point whether I can route the heater hoses in a safe, elegant manner. I'm wondering if for the time being there's any reason why I can't just block off the heater core.

I'm talking about the 5/8" lines running from the remother thermostat housing to the heater core and then out to the return on the WP. It sure would be a lot cleaner if I could do away with them (for now). I have a bunch of caps, so it should be pretty simple, I just want to make sure that it won't affect my cooling in any way.

Thanks.
