you can't/wouldn't want to convert a dual plane intake to port EFI? One of my concerns with all the aftermarkets is they're all tall single plane and that isn't clearnace friendly under a firebird hoodline. So any reason not to convert say a performer RPM? maybe use a torker 2? or jsut get a cowl hood and run the accell or holley single plane efi?
I would give one of the EFI mfg. a ring and see what they have to say. I dont see why not, because all you doing is pulling in air at that point and mixing it at the injectror just before entering the combustion chamber. It may make power in a different RPM range than an open plenum, but if it works in your application my guess is go for it. Hey but I may be wrong.....lol.
I think the fuel rail is the gotcha. the injectors would all be at different heights, and not in a line Unless you point them straight down). But, there's no REQUIREMENT that a fuel rail be made of metal, you can go nuts with T's and clamps and hold down brackets. Or, you could braze one together from copper, and reduce the amount of hold downs.

There's a little more clearance than you think under a Firebird hood. I had a Performer RPM, Carter 650, and non drop base under the hood with room to spare. What are you going to run on top? Elbow? TB and air cleaner?

I think being a dry setup, the dual plane won't net you anything really. The slightly longer runner may net a hair more lowend, but i'm doubting it.
FYI, my holley singleplane + 4bbl throttlebody and turbonetics hat fit under the stock thirdgen hood, but by like .040" . With old crappy motor mounts it might have dimpled the hood.
If you are getting it converted, the thing to watch for, well, at least in my case, is where the fuel rail standoffs are welded. Mine required me to use a 1" spacer under the T/B, so I can attain WOT.
Now, I do have a Harwood cowl hood on my Formula. I am VERY concerned about the height, even with the added hood clearance. From the runner flange of the converted manifold, I need at least 11.5" to the air cleaner stud. Measurements of the current SR manifold to the fenderline, and the added cowl height, I am in the ball park now. It will be close, but, if worst comes to worst, I might be able to get a smaller thickness spacer, or even have mine milled down. I do not need an entire inch for WOT clearance, so if the linkage just barley contacts the standoff, I can just modify it some more.
There are different ways to go about it. You can buy a Victor EFI, already done, or go like I did, and convert a Super Victor.
Here is a pic of mine with a K&N filter. This filter was replaced with a drop base K&N, that netted me some more clearance.
Hmmm. I wanted to see if there was any benifit , but as mentioned since it's dry, it really doesnt matter much. More details later as I figure out induction choice....I've narrowed it down to three, Stealthram, Accell Pro ram, and Carb. I'd love to go with a sleeper tpi but the motor makes peak at 5500rpm and i dont want to choke it.
