weiland #90748 bolt kit for HSR???

getting my last parts for the 383 HSR, down to rotating assembly and gaskets/bolts.

purchased hsr in june and i heard that you have to use the weiland bolt kit part #90748 for the center intake bolts bc of the different angle.??

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku

is this true? 80$ for 4 bolts is nuts lol if it is true or not....and are the HSR intakes the same angle as the patriot heads? wat do u recomend as far as a good performance intake bolt kit 12 point not crazy $$(with or without the weiland kit) for an HSR bolted to patriot performance 195cc aluminum heads? i dont need stainless or w/e but nothing horrible looking, thanks

Re: weiland #90748 bolt kit for HSR???

you only "have" to use those bolts with the later model heads. If you're patriot heads have the old style intake bolt angles you'll be just fine. All it is is slightly longer bolts and angled washers. $80 is a bit steep, you can fab up the setup with minimal tools if you need to. But I think you'll be fine.

For the intake bolts I just hit the local O'reilly and picked up a set of the mr gasket bots lor like 7 bucks.

i cant get a definite answer with the intake bolt angles of the new patriot heads.... the intake has really elongated center bolt holes tho.... will the mr gasket bolts seal this ok?

also how could i find out about the intake bolt angles of the patriot heads?

Re: weiland #90748 bolt kit for HSR???

I bought them and didn't need them with my AFR's. They are just angled pieces of aluminum. If you need them I'll sell em for 15 bucks shipped.
As far as sealing the elongated bolt holes, just put some blue RTV on the bolts to keep oil from "creeping" up the threads. Do this whether you use the spacers or not.
Call Patriot or just install the bolts without the intake, lay a straight piece of wood or pipe across them and see if they are at a different angle.
I use stainless ARP bolts they are 27 bucks at Summit http://store.summitracing.com/partde...115&rsview=sku
Or black for about 20 bucks.
