limo dark is illegal for side windows in Texas, but u can make the back window as dark as you want
I think 15% is the highest you can go in Texas... not sure tho.

35% on the sides and you can paint the back black if you want.

I did 35% on the sides and 27% (somewhere in that area) on the back. Personally, I wouldn't go any darker, because that makes it difficult enough to back up in the dark. It keeps my car plenty cool, and I never have to flip my mirror to night as the tint keeps the headlight glare down to where it doesn't bother me.

Go dark for the back. Helps hide things you don't want people seeing and maybe want stealing. Plus it looks better.

Sorry, it's the best pic I have on this computer.

In Texas, you can go 35% for the sides and any % for the rear. That's the law down here for the past 15 years. You can still find a shop that will go to 20% on the sides - just keep in mind that Texas police officers carry a tint swatch with them to hold up to your window.

Yeah its 35% on the sides and dark as you want on the back, like everyone else said.

However, I have Limo all the way around, got pulled by a THP officer and he put the meter on there and the sides read 8%, oops. I told him that I didnt know it couldnt be that dark, then he went into his schpleal, bla bla bla. Anyways he issues me a ticket for "Improper Equipment" and I go on. Well I called the courthose and asked them what I had to do to get the ticket taken care of, she tells me, "Just mail in a recipt showing that your tint was taken off at a shop, also send $10 and it will get dismissed". I was like, hmm... I jumped on the computer, found a stencil for buisness reciepts and opened up shop. Mailed the reciept in w/$10 and never had to touch the car.

I wouldnt rely on that story for an excuse to do limo on the sides, my situation is probably going to be different than everyone elses.
Stick with whats legal. Good luck.

But if you want to do limo, I know a guy that does tinting on the side, he works at Custom Stereo in Plano. Let me know and I'll set you up. It will be cheaper also.

Re: Anybody know what the darkest tint% is for Texas?

it's 25% in texas for 1988 and up for the DPS man. 20% for inspection.

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/tint.htm

you can black out the rear if you have both side mirrors
