Here's what I've done:

1. Worked as a car hop at Sonic. Between my minimum wage hourly rate and tips, I made about $10 an hour. Boss was a d*ckhead and moved me away from car hop so I quit. Didn't pay enough than to warrant staying.

2. Williams Travel Center Restaraunt. Paid good and got lots of hours, but the job was complete and I came home pissed off every night. Quit when I moved to go to A&M to study mechanical engineering.

3. McDonalds for 2 weeks. Hated it.

4. Wal-Mart automotive department. Oil changes and tire work. I like the job and it paid good, but quit when I moved home for the summer.

5. VMS Inc- Basically I drove up and down the highway for 8-10 hours a day and typed data into a laptop. Worked with a really cool guy, so it was just like a perpetual road trip. When we had that project done, I just stayed in the office for another month and stayed on thirdgen.

6. Back to school with no job for the entire year. Sucked and now my credit cards are maxed and I have no savings.

7. Finally found a job. I start working at Pizza Hut tommorrow as a driver. $5.25 hr + $1 per delivery + tips. Should be pretty fun, and it'll be even more fun once I get my camaro running. What could be better than getting paid to drive your camaro around and listen to oyur stereo?

Mechanic at local Speed shop in WInnipeg, Rivercity Performance. I'll agree with Jay4speed, don't make your hobby your career. You'll hardly touch your own car again! :P

Seems i have all of you beat. I make $13 CANADIAN. So in otherwords that translates into $0.10 an hour.

I really need to move to the states.........

Guess I'll join in!
I just finished my Computer Management degree this may, and Im now headed to Norway to work as Systems Developer at Hydro (www.hydro.com) from August 1st. From next week until then I'll work in my old job (also in Norway) as a Telecom Technician. That's what I did before going back to college in '98. Im also a licenced Communication Electronics Technician, which lead to the job in Telecom initially.
The IROC I funded by savings and scholarships while in school
Now that I start working making the NICE $$$ it'll be time to put some of it to good use in the 'ROC

Ken, kinda off-topic, but what does it cost to import a car from the states to norway? are you doing that with your vert?

anyway, getting back on topic, i used to work as a assembly line worker at a factory that makes vending machine food (Jim, you prolly see a lot of crap like that at GD). I also worked on the cleaning crew at the food factory.

www.avifoodsystems.com

ISP Technical support, part time. Basically sit on *** and talk on phones. sucked, didn't pay enough, and almost got into financial trouble.

www.onecom.com

Current job, I sell lawnmower parts. boring stuff. Occasionally I make deliveries. I also see some nice ladies that their husbands send to get parts. I also ship packages for our power equipment catalog. boring. pays my bills, though, so i don't bitch a lot.

I work a crappy job at the local Zellers (like K-Mart), nites stocking shelves for a whopping $8.39/hr (thats in Canadian folks, like $5.25 us ) .... hoping to go back to school in the fall if I can decide what I want to be "when I grow up"

It does keep the car on the road, altho I do have to save up if I want to put anything more than gas into it

Registered Nurse in a Trauma/Burn Intensive care. The hours aren't bad, I only work three or four days a week, my pick, and I make a killing (45+k). For those of you interested, it's not bad for just a two year and change degree.

I'll bite. I'm 30 years old and work in NYC as a Senior Systems Developer for a pretty large firm. I guess I get paid around $50 an hour plus benefits and bonuses etc. Bought the Roc about a year and a half ago for $1000. Almost done with the interior but we've got a baby due in 5 weeks so the car may be put on hold for a bit to put some finishing touches on the house. That's about it.

Getting ready to start a new job after I got laid off from my welding job, I'm training for maintenance tech at Gibbs Die Casting(they make aluminum parts like steering wheels and a load of borg warner parts, dashboard frames for chrysler, fuel rails for the motor in the Ford Focus, and valve covers for ford) pays $15.35 an hour and all I have to do is watch a computer and fix the presses when they screw up!!! Guess all that schoolin' for hydraulics and pneumatics has got to be for something

Assistant LAN Administrator, a little over $18/hr. Job market sucks and this is the only thing i could get with an AS degree, MCP and 10 years experiance. Aw well, pays the bills but not enough to do anything with the camaro.

If you are willing to relocate there is a lot of IT open in the DC/MD/VA area. I am looking around know. Some offers of $50-60K with the same experience you have. I love my company but things are a little iffy on the corporate end. The key is too have goverment clearance. To tap into this market you have to have Secret or Top Secret clearance. There are tons of government contractors looking. I work for ADT and have to go out to some of these sites and sometimes they offer my jobs out of the blue. It is really weird. Its flexible where I am at though. No set hours, no real boss, and play on thirdgen most of the day. I cover all of MD. Just glad I dont have to put those miles on my Z.

Cant beat that...

In about a year or so I will be part owner of a brand new strip club. I am going on a partnership to build a new one with a buddy of mine. Right now I work as a computer tech which I hate and is boring as hell. I've had it with computers. But at least owning a successful strip club will be something enjoyable.

I work with computers too. Been doing network support since I was 19 (worked for Exodus) but now I work for the government. Cant talk much about my job because it is DOD related. Hopefully I'll sell my truck soon (asking 10,000/obo) and get to start on my project 3rd gen. I think I found a buyer for my 90 RS too ... so pretty soon I'll have about 10-12 k to spend on the 3rd gen (car and mods). EVO here I come!!!
