Lug nuts/washers...

I need to find some sort of remedy for my lug nut washers. They are rusty and look like S***! I have Cragar Mag SS Wheels that shine like nothing i've ever seen before and they look really tight, but the rusty washers totally mess the picture up. A little help? Thanks

By the way, I have the duplex acorn lug nuts but i don't think that makes a difference. I am surprised at this find though bc these are the lug nuts and washers that came with the wheels. Why would they give me crap that rusts??

buy new washers and lugs if needed but they are special for the unilug wheel which it sounds like you have. and do not tighten with an air wrench. that is what scratches them and creates the rust. us a socket or lug wrench to do the job and make sure it fits well before torquing them. any scratched chrome will rust.

another option would be to sand blast the washers and lugs and have them powder coated in silver then they would hold up much longer.

Ok great, so I should basically just tighten them up by hand then.

you got it hand tighten only with unilug wheels. And most any rim and chrome lug you want to stay nice and clean. The impact gun just beats the polish out of the stuff.
