Originally posted by pasky I hate when people say I have an iroc . Its just a camaro to me. Everyone here refers to a thirdgen camaro as a iroc.
That's a worldwide thing
When people try to act like they know about cars, they will always say my car is a hooked up IROC or that their uncle's brother's cousin had an IROC just like mine
No kidding, that's great, since i don't drive an IROC.....
lol i'm reading this post and noticing, noone spells ferrari the correct way! LOL
the two "R"s are between the "E" and the "A"
the last letter is an "I"
:-)
and the 328 looks nothing like a 348....the 348 is more of a cross between a 355 and a Testarossa (512)
the 308 looks very similar to the 328 but has a ***** V8 engine....quite possibly the WORST ferrari ever made. LOL
Back to what people call your cars....I was chatting with this kid i know that goes to my school (wont say he's a friend cause he's a freshman and is ALWAYS arguing with what i say, no matter what), and I said something, i forget what, but he knew i liked these "Camaro" cars.....
Anyway, he bumped into me outside school a few days later and there was a yellow 3rd gen Z28 parked out front.......we walked by it, he goes up and reads what it says on the back, and is like "Hey Chris....isnt this the car you like? the Cam-a-rar-o?"
I just laughed and said "Camaro....Camaro, not Camararo"
That was a good time though.....
One time one of my friends who THINKS he knows alot about cars and stuff asked (right after my dad got his 04 G35x sedan) "Oh, your dad got a G35 coupe?"
I was like "No my dads car is the silver one in my driveway" (Thinking for some reason maybe he thought some other car on the street was my dads, and the one in the driveway was just randomly there? hahaha) and he was like "Yeah, the one in the driveway....next to your car....'
I just was like.....Never before had I ever heard a 4 door sedan called a coupe....
Meh.....
my car get called a trans am and camaro and an iroc, when all it is is a v8 powered firebird. but, from 82-84 weren't the bodies of the firebirds and trans ams exactly alike (neither had gfx).. so i guess my car could get passed off as a 82-84 trans am
i remember when i first got my car, they said "look a race car"... lol..
p.s. when i first got my car, it look like it just got out of a demolition derby
i remember when i first got my car i took a picture of it to school with me and was showing people, and this dumbass with a civic comes up and says "holy ****, whos car is that" i say its mine, he says "how can you afford a ferrari" i guess im just a poor ******* with a wannabe ferrari
seems like mine gets called a vette, ferrari, then camaro by girls, but if shes hot, she can call it whatever the hell she wants most people say firebird, and thats technically what it is, so it doesnt bother me. trans am is just an option. seems like little kids are the only ones who call it a t/a

yeah atleast ppl give names to ur cars.... PPL always ask me " What kinda car is that"? i say its a 1991 Z28 Camaro.... And there "like camaros dont look like that..."
i guess the third gen is a forgotten car around here, but thats gooD! i get to have em all !
but as far as my car being called something else, ocassionally ill get "thats a sweet *** camaro, is that an iroc?" and ill just take the compliment and say "no, its a z28 but its practically the same thing just newer."
its been called a firebird once and i politely said "well actually its a camaro but theyre pretty much the same cars."
however, just like all of you if someone said 'hey man nice fox body" id slap him!!!

Originally posted by firbird My car has been called a lot of things, seems like the typical name for firebird around here is camaro.
A few months a go I got a ticket that I believe toped all the names that my car has ever been called... I feel your pain 89 rs... I went to school and forgot my college parking sticker and of coarse they fined me for not having it the one and only day my car entered that parking lot without it and what really got me was not that i got a ticket but what they called my car on the ticket. They got every thing right besides were it has a line to fill out for make which they put MUSTANG on there.
My standards have lowered. If someone calls my car a corvette or a camaro I am satisfied that they got at least it was a gm.
Couldn't you get out of the ticket (when you go to court), if you show them that some information on the ticket is WRONG, won't it just get thrown out?
I have the same problem with guys my age calling it an IROC. One of the guys in my fraternity even told me he was going to buy me the IROC stickers to put on the side. There's a reason they aren't on there to begin with!! haha It doesn't bother me too much though, I usually just kinda shrug it off. I think most everybody identifies third gen camaros as IROC's, especially if they have the hood louvers. And on the topic of girls, I agree with KagA152, they can call it whatever they want. haha
CamarosRUS, that is a freakin awesome vette!! I think a little bit of drool ran out of my mouth when I saw that picture.
haha! sorry for the crappy pic but thanx for the compliment. but as far as all thirdgen camaros being irocs, its so true!!! i was in the ghetto one day in my old 92 RS when this group of three guys looked and said daym...nice iroc. i just laughed but i did happen to have an iroc hood with the louvers on it at the time. its a shame it said RS on the side
i was just happy even people in the ghetto know what a camaro is
To confuse the Camaro and IROC a little more, there was a blue 4th gen camaro on The Sopranos last week with an IROC sticker on the lower door area. So of course I was completely distracted by that odd sight that probably 95% of all viewers wouldn't even notice! Very strange.
yeah when ever im in town i all ways have a couple girls every now and then say "wow thats a nice looken car ... what kind of car is it thow... and ill be like oh its a camaro and they are like... it is?
lol i guess are cars to beginners dont really resemble the "camaro" look to people
when most people here the word camaro they think of what the 60s-70s cars looked like and i guess are cars dont fit that picture in there head.
all in all i dont care i love my car... i hate the looks of 4 gens mind you i love the engines in them but i hate the looks of them and i do like the older cars but im more into the 82-92 style.
ive alwase got people like older guys telling me that my car is just a junk pile and its not a real muscle car and that its a waste of money because it will never realy be a muscle car.... but i shrug it off cause i know there are alot more people like you guys that believe differently like me:lala:

I had an 87 firebird 3 years ago and I use to drive my friend to work. So I drop him off at his house and his uncle asked how I enjoyed driving a vette to work everyday. My friend just said I bet he wishes it was a vette. I never thought the car was that nice, but aparently some smooth paint threw someone off.
