That is insane dirty, but its better to have dirt then rust, atleast some time and cleaners would make that look decent, rust like we have out my way just eats everything and ruins the appearance within a few months.
It's definitely worth the trouble of restoring, but then, I'm definitely a little partial.
I always get a kick out of some seller's descriptions. In this case, I find "It is showing normal Camaro wear" quite amusing. Even to the most ardent Camaro enthusiast, that means nothing. It's akin to when a seller mentions "The car was running perfectly *before* the three car pile-up".

yeah junkyard cars get dirty fast i am finding it painstakingly hard to find a set of fourthgen leather buckets at the junk yard or any other seats that are leather and matching color that aren't to dirty
up here in eastern Canada, There are NO! F-bodies even available. I started calling about parts this past spring, and everyones like, O we crush those as soon as they come in. I'm Like WTF
Although I was able to get a Clutch master cylinder orderd in through a local junk yard... only 100 miles away, Even they had to order it from someone else.
another org owner who didnt take care of his third gen. I feel bad for that car It should be on the roads cruising with all the other F bodies. Put a new engine and money into it that car can be nice agian. The rims dont look in bad cond, they just need to be polished up..
hell for that price i'd buy it in a heartbeat if i lived closer to that location, a very good price he has started on, all it needs is a little cleaning, but would make a great parts car,
no thats not a bad price, at least that guy knows what he'll get out of it. i went to look at a 91' RS the other with a V6, 700r4, and 236,000 miles on it. no stereo, no options, it had a iroc hood with a new paintjob-teal with white stripes, but the front end was wrecked and it didn't even start, cloth interior, oh and it had a hurst shifter, but he said he wouldn't take less than $2800 for it. i just kinda laughed and walked off.
I bet this guy has to drive down a dirt road to get to his house from the main road. That is probably why the engine is so dirty. And after he crashed it, then what is the point of keeping it clean? Hence all the dirt in the interior.
i got to chime in my story, that is definitaly one dirty camaro, but check this story, back when i was shopping for a camaro, after i decided i needed a new car and realized that a newspaper boy could afford one (even if it had to be a v6), anyways one of the camaros i went to go see, a "eggbeater" i think was how the guy described it in his add, the guy wanted like $2000 for it, but on the phone he said he had been offering it for $1000, and that hed slide it too $500 for me to get it out of his driveway, (already sounding like it was an unsalable car) anyways i went to go see the car, the guy said hed meet me at a dunkin donuts cause he was down a 1 way street that he said was hard to find, he wasnt at the dunks, i tried his cell and no one answered it, my dad said he knew the main street that the guys street was off of, so we went in search of it, we found the street drove down the road and it was easy to spot, it was a blue camaro sitting a little ways down a driveway with a for sale sign in the window, i called his cell again and this time he answered, he said he totaly forgot to get up and meet me, i told him we found his house and were outside, he said the keys were in the car and its unlocked, i could check it out myself and tell him if i wanted it, (sounded like he was tiered of showing it to people and having them take a look and run) anyways the outside looked decent, despite the mud all over the car, it really looked like he had off-roaded it, but it didnt have any plates on it, and the bumper was cracked, otherwise the paint was faded in a few spots and in decent condidtion, oh and the third brake light on the rear glass looked pretty much ripped apart, he didnt have the hood all the way clossed, there was a metal bar holding it a ince open, i poped the hood, suprisingly the engine looke dlike you could eat off it, it was very clean, a 2.8 v6, as i expected it was gonna be, my dad said was saying we sould see how it runs, that the exterior was decent and the engine bay in excelent shape for the price, all we would have to do was clean the mud and maybe a paint job and a bumper or repaiur, i get in the car, (my first time sitting in a camaro) , i check the ingnition, sure enought the keys were in it, (i think the guy wanted someone to steal it for him) i started it up, it roared to life the engine sounded great, (the guy claimed he was a mechanic, despite the landscaping truck he had sitting in his driveway) my dad was really impresed with the engine, he said it was probably a good project car, and not to big of a engine, (he had already layed down the no v8 rule), he said we should put it into gear to see if the trans worked drive/reverse and and everything, i got back in the car and pointed out there was no radio in the car, he said for $500 it was expected, we would need to do a few things, i could get one aftermarket he said, and i probably would have pulled the stock one anyways (wich i have done in my 25th), i looked around the interior thinking this could be what im gonna be driving if i want a camaro, the interior had mud in it too, on the carpeting and some dirt, i noticed rips in the drivers seats, i decided to check the back seat, i pulled up the passengers seat and look in the back, ther was a pool of liquid in the back seat on the floor, the top of the puddle was multicolored, so i assume it was not all water, and it looked quite stangnant, not sure how long it was there, i jokingly told my dad, "this is quite a buy, his ad didnt mention he instaled a pool in the back seat" my dad took one look and said "i think this is gonna be too big of a project for what you want to get out of the car, the floors probably rusting, the carpet needs replacing and that water looks like its been sitting for a while", i agreed and said it didnt look like it was all water, "he said a lot of it probably was, but it looks like there is oil in it", he had notice that the sunroof was leaking a little bit, as it was raining outside that day, he said it 'looked like some one had climbed out the roof or hung of the sun roof", there was a dent on the roof around the sun roof, he said it was too bad the engine looked and sounded great, i got back in the car to shut it off and when i turned the car off the ignition fell out in my hand and i had to put it back in befor we left, we didnt even chack out the hatch area but we had seen enough, we booked it out of there, the guy called me up later that night and asked me if i wanted to buy his car, i told him it looked like too big of a project for me at the time, and i expected to have a little work to do, but it was a little bit too much, he said hed give it to me for $250 if i still wanted it, i again turned down his offer and he pretty much said if i changed my mind i could name my price, it was a shame he drove it into the ground and then couldnt get anythign for it especially with such a great looking and sounding engine, if it had a 350 he could have at least sold the engine for soemthing, cause it was the only selling point of the car, and that was only a 2.8 liter, anyways im glad i didnt buy a car like that one, and there is way to many of them out there unfortunitaly, i wish i had taken soem pictures of that car, but i wasnt expecting to be joing a third gen board any time soon
thats nothing compared to what my car looked like when i got it ..the car had sat for 3 years without the ttops on..there was atlleast a 1 inch layer of dirt on everything and plants growing out of the dirt and all over the headliner..also in the back on the floor there was a 5" deep pond of water..and the white paint looked green i really thought i was buying a green car then i washed it it was white...i like the white better
hehe

i think you win camarors8992, thats quality, well not from your cars point of view, who doesnt have enough time in 3 years to put somethign over the roof, i used to grow plants and trees in the trunk of my old beater, there was a build up of pine needles and stuff in the weather stripping of my trunk, i was gonna leave them in and see how big theyed get, but i bought a nice car and gave the old one to my sister
Personally I dont think cleaning an engine bay is like cleaning the outside of car. Its a PITA reaching all those crevaces and places, some places I can't even reach without doing some sort of acrobatic act over engine bay with q-tip. Some people just don't have all day to clean every little part of thier car, especially if they have more than 1 and family and busy at work.
