I think an SC would look good with a 2" drop and some 17's. You could run a 275 on the stock IROC rim, but I do not know if anyone has made one. They do make a 295/50R16 and you can mount them on a 8" rim, looks a little buldged though. I have a set of those that I used to have on my IROC. All that sidewall kinda defeats the purpose of pro touring.
I love the Fikse FM5s on that car! I want some 17s. I've only seen a few other 3rdgens with that wheel. Those Firehawks on J's T/A look killer also! :hail:
Yeah, I have that pic saved on my harddrive. I PM'd that guy a few times and talked about the wheels. They are a custom set which is why you don't see too many 3rdgens with them. That car was also featured in a Camaro book that I've seen at the local book store. Nice clean car and hes the original owner.
that 84 also has a johnny lightning car replica. that car is sooo bad ***, its actually my backround. when i had my 84 thats what i wanted it to look like, but i didnt have any money so there was no chance in getting those 4000$ rims.
435cui small block with bad attitudes!!!
driving in that car is really an experience!
go to "gallerien" an then the trans-am and detail gallery.
greetings

Hell yeah, the only other Knight Riderer with a T56! That car's my inspiration. BTW, I want that air intake setup on that first blue T/A. Where can I find it!!??

You used to be able to get that kit through SLP. Not sure if they still make it? Check their website.

Creative blower set-up there! Along w/ a few other things! One being the console delete....... I think I like it tho. It gives it a nice race car look.

Thanks-because that is mostly what it was built to do. The appearance changes came after the performance mods were already in place. There is still a ton of work to do before I would consider it complete.

Here we have living proof that search works and even newbies know how to use it!
That's the truth!
In that case, since it's already bumped...I'll have a pretty potent pro-touring-ish car when my swap is done. I'd already done most of the suspension work that I plan on doing, except I will upgrade the shocks to something better (QA1's most likely), it's already got Hotchkis springs, adjustable phb, LS1 brakes all around, subframe connectors, etc. I also plan on putting a 6 point cage in it down the road. But as far as having a good handling car with power, this would be it. I'm almost to the point in the swap where I can put the new motor mounts in place and drop it in there, a nasty 6.0L LSX with Texas Speed's MS4 cam, forged pistons and rods, and all the goodies for the valvetrain, and will have a T56 to boot.

I'm hoping to build mine up to a pro touring car too. Has anyone ever heard of the Camaro Mustang Challenge? It's a National AutoSport Association class. I thought it would be pretty cool to do that. Has anyone got a car for that?

Yes i've heard of it, and i've heard of the F-Body vs. Mustang shootout. It's not autocross or protouring though...it's drag racing.
That's not a Camaro rear end, it's got the side marker lights on the quarter panels like a Pontiac would. What part of it was photochopped? The wheels? Personally, I think that's one of the best looking Pontiacs I've seen, those wheels without having a spoiler look really good.

The Camaro Mustang Challenge is not drag racing. Do a google search for CMC, American Iron, American Iron Extreme.
You need to re-read what I said. "and i've heard of the F-Body vs. Mustang shootout. It's not autocross or protouring though...it's drag racing." Wasn't referring to Camaro Mustang Challenge.
You mean the BBS wheels are that much more than the ugly ones in the second photochop? I would keep shopping then, because the last ones don't look like they belong on a 3rd gen, more like a Skyline or 240SX....

On another note...heres A pic of the hood scoops I am making with the stock grills!
Far from finish but you can tell the shape
better shot off the scoops
Thats an interesting mod to the scoops. Personally, I'm going with a RA1 hood because I want a fiberglass hood for weight reduction, and the RA1 is the only one I like. I'd prefere a stock TA glass hood, but no-one makes one. Closest I could find is a stock firebird hood with no grills/vents.
I'm also thinking of doing my A-pillar in black like 4th gens have it because I hate the way my C&C T-tops meet the A-pillar. Black would hide it appearance wise.
Dude, that hood scoop mod is bad ***. I might have to steal that idea. What size are those crosslace wheels in the pic, is that real? they look like 18" or so. Very nice car, GTAs f'in rule.
