I'm not a fan of large diameter wheels (>18") on anything. They make your vehicle look like a covered wagon.

On another note, that last photo of the white RS...you'd think he'd spend the money fixing the dents in his fender before spending the money on ugly wheels.

i passed some "homie-g" in a blue 85 sportcoupe last friday night, it had at least 20's on it. i am not a big fan of these wheels on anything, let alone a thirdgen. it was funny though, i was just minding my own business, passing him only a few mph then he was going (as not to do the "rycer fly by"). a few minutes later i see his lights kinda move up (acceleration lift) and he comes up kinda hard on my left. well, i let him get almost all the way up to my front bumper then let him have it. blasted from 70-100+ pretty quick and let him see the true duals sitting underneath the car. he then paced me for about 50miles going from behind me and in front of me, i guess trying to get me to race again. but personally i think it's stupid to street race and racing on i-75 on new years eve is just ridiculous.

These guys are professional racers, leave them alone. Those wheels are not only stylin' but they add at least 50 horsepower a rim. Geez.

Man with all the horsepower added by those rims now they just need some NOS stickers and a few other sponsor stickers. Maybe a monster tach and they will own the fastest F-bods EVER!!

youd think they would fix crinckles in the finder befor getting some 20s- but hey look at the guys who ride around in a primered civic with half a body kit, 4 donuts- but they have their polished up dual oval cans on the 4 cylinders- some people just have no prioritys when it comes to appearence of their car- and to comment on it as a whole- thats just a waste of some thirdgens.

Nate Skates. They are doing it to all the Caprices and Montes around here. Have mostly seen it on the 80s cars. First I've seen it on birds! Now I have some F-bods with 20s that looked right. Obviously from people who know how to set up suspension better then thrse guys! Maybe if the wheels were black with the polished lip it would look ok.

I know big wheels can get tacky real quick, but I think there's a place for 20s for a patient fitter. Some careful lowering, trimming, and tire selection can look pretty good, assuming you're not trying to preserve quarter-mile performance. And they're going to be a bit heavier and show "tiny" rotors. Here are a couple of doctored-up photos of some cars familiar to the ThirdGen readers. Mr. IrcoZ's have been "enhanced" to the equivalent of 20s, and his tasty treatment of wheel painting really helps, too.

These third gens have some pretty big wheelwell cutouts, and I think a 20 can fill them nicely.

This is my first attempt at posting, so I apologize if images don't show up.

Its actually just a bunch of kids that don't care how bad there cars may look with oversized wheels. All they care about is the size.

EXAMPLE

Friend: " Hey playa your car looks dumb with those big wheels"

Dumb Guy: "Yea but there 22's.......Its Pimpin."

Friend: "O cool, I see what cha mean now Playa. Im gonna go get some 24's on my Pinto today."

And as you can see it spreads and spreads and one day we will all be ridin on 35" inch wheels.

I thought I'd never see the "ethnic-enhancement-package" on a Camaro or Firebird!

My thoughts exactly! ..over the years, I have come to tolerate many different views and attitudes, but this is just a damn disgrace! Look at me bro...i got's 22" rims..I am richer than you are! It's all about showing off for these fukers. They don't give a fuk how their cars look. Hell, if they could, they would probably paint their cars with 24kt gold.
This entire scene of 'ghetto cool' has gotten out of hand. Shows like Pimp my Ride make a mockery of hot rodding and just normal decency. Anyway..needed to get that off my chest.
Thanks...

Tommy

Agreed. Unfortunately, we see some pretty bad examples amongst many members here as well.

I have never seen 20inch rims on anything driven by a white person other than dodge ram pickup. And those that have 20inch rims and are another color are trying to be thugs.

My opinion, I'm not racist, I have several black friends and they think this stuff is cool. Driving "Caddys" "burbs" "Lacs" with them 10's and 12's bumpin in the back.

Anyway just my 2cents

No but there are enough 14" cragar ss's stuck out past the fenders with the rear jacked up in the air on air filled shocks with the cheapest biggest rear tires stretched over the tiny rims in the rear and the smallest crap from the spare tire bin thrown on the front, complete with CB antenna and $30 grant steering wheel.

Its just as bad, dont try to put all the blame on one side of the boat.

If you guys think its not white boys doin this then you really got to find your way down here were I live. So many rich eminem(im a fan) wanna be white boys running around in these trucks with 26" inch wheels that its not even funny. Most of the black guys around here have very nice rides.....most have 19"inchs but every now and then they have 20"inchs.

There was a impala the other day sitting so high in the air you could change the oil with both arms streched strait up in the air. I don't even wanna wonder what size they were(atleast 24").

Also just my

I'd say this is getting a little outta hand, so I'm locking it. It was inevitable. Questions or comments, PM me. Thanks.
