How hard to put a TA spoiler on my car?

OK, I currently have this

and I want this

How hard is this? Does it just bolt on? And what about my third brake light? With my spoiler the third light s at the top of the hatch. In the second one(the one I want) the brake lght is built into the spoiler, what should I do with that?

Thanks

Although I haven't done it myself here's my 2 cents:

Most of the 3rd gen spoilers don't use the same holes to bolt in. You will probably need to fill the old ones and drill new ones.

For the 3rd brake light, the one that's part of the hatch is removable right? You can just remove it and use the new 3rd brake light or you can fill in the 3rd brake light on the spoiler, repaint, and keep the old one. I dunno how it would look with both 3rd brake lights but I doubt it will look all that good.

Since I've never seen an aftermarket 3rd gen wraparound spoiler, I will assume it attaches exactly like the stock one does. GM spot-welded little clips on the frame around the hatch glass and the sides of the wrap-around spoiler attach to these clips.

You could conceivably drill and chisel some clips off a car with the stock wraparound spoiler and spot weld them to your glass frame, but that would be a huge PITA and you'd still have the wrong 3rd brakelight.

I'd find a hatch with an original wraparound spoiler and the 3rd brakelight under the spoiler (87-90). Find one in the junkyard and take the junk stock spoiler off so they don't charge you for it. Keep the 3rd brakelight parts though. Then you'll have everything you need. You were going to have to paint the spoiler anyway, now you'll just have to paint the whole hatch.

By the way, to remove a stock wraparound spoiler you remove the bolts in the decklid and push the spoiler forward which releases the clips that hold the 2 sides.
