Will aircraft paint stripper harm tires?

I am getting to strip the paint and clear off of some wheels and they still have good tires on them. Will the aircraft paint stripper harm these tires? I think I have seen people do it without removing the tires but I am not sure. TIA

If you don't get alot on them, and get it rinced off fairly quick, you shouldn't have any problems.

I have seen where it is left on too long, and it raises the rubber, right where the stripper is in contact with the tires, but still didn't ruin the tire, and was unnoticable, just be careful, and keep it away from your eyes!

Even a little will dry the rubber, but the job can be done with the tires mounted...
