Teaser Pic of the 383

It has taken a while, but many were asking for a pic of the 383. I mocked it up today and took these pics. Still some time before she runs though

Hi Brisk, I did the tail light about 3-4 years ago and I don't remeber the exact recipe, but I made my own mix. I think it was 2 parts of clear to 1/2 part black. I remeber I had to play around with it to get to the desired level. I bought a can of the night nightshade stuff but I didn't like the way it looked. It was too dark for my taste, so I made my own!

It is mostly a stock ZZ383. With the addition of more head porting, upgraded valve springs, 1.6 rockers, and a LPE 219/219 cam.

The tricky part will be tuning this beast

shouldn't be too bad. Thats not a huge cam. I'm sure there's someone on the forums running a 219 cam with a 383 that'll share their *.bin with you as a starting point.

Cobain, I purchased the engine from Kandied (who is a famous member of this board). It came as a long block, except for the cam, balancer, roller rockers, water pump, timing chain..etc. The package from GM (ZZ383) comes as a turn key product. I didn't mind buying it without some of those parts, because I wanted to go a bit differently on the cam shaft and roller rockers.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Ya...it definetly did not look like that when I bought it! I had the entire thing polished! It took some time, but it came out better than I expected.
