My '85 S/C was silver, then someone painted it red after my friend sold it, then I bought it, now its used for parts for my IROC lol. Never seen an original Silver Camaro, if you look you can see a lot of spots where the red is flaking and u can see the silver under it.
I own 2 white 3rd gen Camaro's. One of them has the silver skirt... Think I mite wanna do a two tone on that one... Maybe a black & combo.... Havent seen any green Camaro's in person...
cant say that ive seen all that many yellow gold camaros. in this area there are a surprising amount of thirdgens, i see a probably 3 a week, but they're all black red or blue
Well I don't have the "Camaro White Book" infront of me. Better known as the thridgen bible, but as I recall the rarest color from the factory was the garnet red. Followed by maybe the purple haze. After that I don't remember. That's for 91's and 92's anyway.
Mine is a cross between medium blue and purple. A buddy of mine nixed the paint while have a few......and a few more. The car looks great but he didn't mix any extra paint. SO I can't touch up the car and HE can't remember how he mixed it. I call the colour "drunkin' blue".

Thank you. Yes, that's my car. The editor of that section, John Neslon, has an 84 Camaro (it's getting paint in this month's issue), so I had a leg up .

That orange and the silver are beautiful! I've never seen either in person. I did see a silver one on ebay. I almost wish I'd waited and bought that. (It was a better deal and it was within driving distance ) Mine was originally Bright Red, but it was repainted Torch Red. Sorry for the large image. I was too lazy to resize.
Where I live I've only seen one thirdgen, and it was bright red. (thank god mines been repainted! ) And from what I could tell, the owner drives it in the winter. I was coming up to a street light a few weeks ago and saw it parked in front of the part store. I was so surprised to see it I started drifting towards the other lane.

Sorry for the double post.. I hit stop instead of just re-editing my last post when I wanted to add more, so I'll just post another pic to make it all worth while.
I have to fix the passenger side gfx or buy a new one, as shown in the picture. That was the fault of the guy I bought it from, who decided after I got the car he didnt want to replace the piece, because of some paperwork issues that were his fault. How's that for irony..

I forgot there was one other thirdgen in my area that was interesting. It's a 2 tone blue and silver. Doesn't look like he quite finished the restoration, but the color combo isn't too bad. I haven't seen the car in person, just when I stumbled across his Myspace page because the car was the main photo.
Hope he doesn't mind me posting the pic.
I remember seeing a Nissan 350-Z/Infinity G35 that had a beautiful Cobalt/Dark/Royal Blue color...you should check that out, that is the best blue that I have ever saw.
Pizza_guy my '83 Z28 is the same color combo as yours. It's Code 59 Beige and was only available in '83 (4,388) and '84 (16,120).Those numbers are from the "Camaro Whitebook" and is for total beige Camaros.I've only seen 2 other beige Camaros in person but I've seen a few for sale online.
I see a 3rd gen occassionally around where I live. And of them mostly are red, teal, blue and white.

Man That Two Tone Color is wicked in a good way. I think that the made way to muck white, but i like my white roc. I live near the reservation and most of the i-rocs are all rusted..... Any ways nice car matt_p.
I have seen at least 2-3 red RS camaros also a red vert camaro and 2 red GTAS around here, a blue IROC i believe with silver stripes, 2-3 white camaros and a firebird and a trans am, a maroon formula (i think) across the street. I have seen 88-90 black iroc-z vert and a black firebird. I have seen teal and purple haze in the bone yards to. I have actually seen an original yellow iroc around town also. ive had a maroon car, a yellow one that under the carpet was maroon but the title said it was supposed to be silver and i have my lovely red IROC now. Thats all i got now.
Gotta love red tho.....

Reason: more to list
The most common that I have seen is the bright red or I think they call it victory red. Dont see very many thirdgens in my area anymore. I've only seen a few that is my color on my iroc which is the darker red. I think its called crimson red metallic. Here's pics of an 88 camaro sport coupe I owned in 1995 to 1996 before I traded it in for my iroc. Its orange or bronze color with silver gfx's. Never seen another with this color. Only good pics I have since digital cameras was too expensive buy at that time.

this is daily driver project with v6.
Paint contains:
Violet undercoat, almost black candy, flakes.
In the dark it's black but daytime it' almost violet.
When discussing not so common colors, my old man's "yelloz" comes to mind. The oddball factor made it grow on me.. and its lack of an awful interior color (red comes to mind) didn't hurt either.
Here's my Lear Blue 91Z28 in the staging lanes at Ohio Valley Raceway. All the other ones in my area are either beat up or *******ed out with spraypaint and different color body parts.

honestly around my area of long island, i hardly ever see a thirdgen anymore, in any color....it's weird b/c I've always had the mind set they were a dime a dozen, but that is far from the case now. Since I have got one(alittle over 3months now) I could probably count on my hands how many I've seen around here, and thats including my buddies 89RS. I think there geting rarer, maybe that is just this area though
man i have that same mind set and I realized there are only four in my town including mine, there is a purple and black iroc(it's nastly fast), a red RS 305, my teal RS, and that's right a SILVER like 86 V6.
I see 2 3rdgens everyday on my way to work. They are the same 2.One of them is parked in a used car lot, its purple. The other is a red daily driver that is owned by some kid that works at the oil station.
There is 1 gorgeous 3rd gen I have had the honor to drool at on my way to work this week.He is getting some engine work done or something as he is parked outside a speed shop. Its bright yellow with black stripes. Its a kick azz looking car.
Let me know if you've ever seen white one with five dark blue pinstripes along the side
and two dark blue pinstripes on both sides of the hood going down and around the headlights thats what my factory paintjob is its old but most of its still there its an 1984
sport coupe
around where i live, ive only seen blue car balck wheel z28, a black iroc, and my friends blue rs. sorry that the picture is so big. i cant figure out
how to just get a small one using the insert image thing. but yeah i cant seem to find any camaro's, i do see firebirds. usualy when i see a camaro id wave to them. i wish i could see their face.
haha

Well, if you don't see them in your area anymore that must be because 70% of them are in my area. The nice ones on the other hand are becoming more rare
I suppose my silver Trans Am has a rare color then? I'm almost 100% positive it's the stock color unless the previous owner went through the trouble to paint under the carpet and inside the doors too. lol. Of course the metal flake in the paint was added later.
I live near Green Bay WI, and ive seen one other black sport coupe like mine, and a friend owns a gray 82 Z28...thats the only thirdgen around here that i no of...i see a lot of 4th gens tho...
I agree with most of you. Find a real silver one and keep it. Pretty rare. I have a red/orange metallic with tan interior. Looks sweet. All orig. found a 92 Z thats Purple Haze. Not sure If I can see myself driving a purple care. think the Gold trim package Helps on most colors.
