Shadow side or not, you can see that paint is PERFECT. What was the total for that? $4k or so?

thx for the compliments...i didnt take the picture (if you look in the perfect reflection you can see my mom and brother haha) so i cant really speak for that...the front end of the car wasnt painted at the time so there wasnt an entire full shot of the car

The paint job would have costs upwards of 8k but since i did a lot of the work myself (entirely hand sanded, filling, etc.) and helped my body guy out as much as possible its gonna be a total of about 3,500

more to come soon
(oh and btw its completely shaved...side markers and all)

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

and then some...(the car is not fully back together)

The paint has been on for about 2 weeks and im ready to give it a good wash...what do you guys recommend for a nice soft washing soap...also no waxing for a few months right???

we rinsed the car down with reg water and it dulled the paint a little after it dried (waterspots and such)...will a simple soapy wash bring it back to life or will i have to wait till i can wax it? Can someone also fill me in on the clay bar method?

enjoy...if you dont like it...save it i really dont care

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

very nice. you shouldn't need to clay bar a brand new paint job tho, it just removes impurities which shouldn't be on new paint. but if/when you do, just use some quick detailer or water or something as a lubricant, work in about 2 sq ft section and rub the clay bar over the paint until the "scratching" sound is gone from it rubbing over the crap that's on your paint.

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

You should always dry your car after it gets wet or you will always have water spots. If you already have them you really should wash your car before its too late to get rid of them since you can't apply any kind of sealant to the paint for a while. I waited 6 months before I put wax on my car after the new paint and during that time apart from washing it only got wet twice and I dry it off EVERY time it gets wet. Meg's NXT car wash from any store will be fine for washing it but if you want a better look use professional products to detail it. Since you have a black car when it comes time I'd recommend detailing it with Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and Moose Wax, it really brings out the shine on black cars. If you want advice for detailing read up about it on autopia.org.

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

ive got a little something else in mind for the wheels (youll see soon) and as far as the windows go they will def be tinted soon

im gonna go home and rinse and dry the water spots off...i had no choice but to drive the car home 500 miles and through some rain storms of course. However, the car is completely garaged kept and is not a daily driver whatsoever...the waterspots havent sunk or been sun dried into the paint so they should come out with a soft wash

thx guys keep the comments coming

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

i just got done washing the car and most of the waterspots are gone...the sun isnt out today so it was hard to actually dry the car clean of new waterspots

we rinsed the car off saturday (without drying it) and i drove it home Sunday and finally got around to washing it today so i dont think that the waterspots had time to really sink in

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

That's good! I have a few water spots on two of my new wheels from when I washed the car and after I drove it didn't notice some new drops of water on the wheels and they wouldn't come off even with rubbing compound. Hopefully there's enough room to get the buffer in there and maybe they'll come off.

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

hey man, im sure you have, but try some mothers polish on your wheels...that was the only stuff I used that could get out the toughest of water stains and spots...always did the job with some repeated tries

thanks for the advice

Re: The GTA: Post Transformation

i believe it was a specific polish for aluminum wheels...but if you really took your time the wheels would almost look brand new again...I should have my new wheels on by Sunday and Ill get some more pics up then...i have a good feeling everyone will approve
