tried doing several searches but came up with nothing...just wanted to see if anyone has every powder coated / painted their rims gloss or semi gloss black. i dont think it would look good on certain cars, but some i feel it would be arlight if combined with the right colors. just wondering.
I did that to mine and i think it looks bad ***! but i made my car work with it. they dont look that great all black, but if you polished the center lines on the spokes it looks clean. it all depends on how you want it to look
i know it depends on how it looked, i cant photochop it cuz the hue's and saturation just dont fly the way id like so i was hoping to see if someone else has done it, it doesnt seem like too many have...maybe one day ill just go for it and see what comes of it...of course ill have the spare cash for some zr-1's just in case...
if you are just trying to have a little custom look to them then its a great idea, but if you use a rattle can its going to peel i ended up useing grill paint so it whould peel or chip.
just a little background and no disrespect taken or given, but ive been in collision for a little over 5 years...the only thing i use a spray can for when it comes to working on a car would be guide coating primer haha...i dont do spray cans...

im just looking for an inexpensive, clean sleeper looking wheel that actually looks good...my car isnt sleeper, its rather just stock but im beginning to do the body work...its more or less rather then getting the chrome iroc rims that everyone has, having high gloss black irocs that no one has, pending on if they look good on my maroon / dark red iroc..

I painted the stock wheels black on my dodge neon. Looked great, never scratched or peeled, they`ve been like this for the past 2 years. last year I even drove the car on gravel/dirt woods in the montains for a good 1h30 and they did not even scratch...I'm very happy with the results. I cleaned the wheels first, then I sanded them down so they felt a little ruff and got the stock finish of, cleaned them again and the I sprayed 3 coats of dupli-color wheel paint and then 2 coats of the dupli-color clear coat for wheels. looked very glossy when clean but looked flat black when dirty....the neon is nearly always dirty since I hate that car!!!
Heres my torch red iroc with black wheels, I powder coated them with caswell industries super wet black powder, I did this because the rims were pretty beat up and this was the only cheap way to make them look decent, Its grown on me quite a bit though, and most of my friends like them too so I'll probably leave them alone for now.
