last one. ok still needs to be wet sanded and buffed. but first i have sand out the drips and touch up paint on the passenger door where it rubs the front quarter panel oh and move that panel forward a little and reattach the ground affects on the driver side as it's rubbing on the bottom of the drivers door and scraping off paint............. and then put it all back together(lights, markers, interior panels,) oh ya and finish painting the the jam on the drivers side.............................. anyone want to buy a really really fast camaro that needs a little tlc with the new paint job lol
ps. those wheels are temp. i have different wheels to put on.

ya i'm not completely sold on it now either. I'm sure I'll think a little different after i start putting some sweat into it. i haven't even got a chance to really look at it. got home really late last night with it. oh well it's a done deal I'll make the best of it. my wife and i are already looking for another camaro for her but this time I'll paint it. besides this one has the killer drive train so I'm happy
ya i think it woulda looked better with some kind of graphic going down the whole side instead of parts...but hey itll sure as hell stand out....some black rims would compliment it nicely
ya gt 4 has some pretty cool cars on there lol honestly we're doing it again with my wife camaro(soon as i find a doaner) but her's is going to be nuts weird from what she's described ........... every one on third gen will hate it lol but if she's happy ...... I'm happy
so rims.... i have a set of alum. directionals with kinda the same design on them as the pain job or i have a set of american racing rims polished alum. skinnies up front and fats in the rear. not sure which ones i'm going to go with.
i have so much to do to it first. anyone live in the michigan lansing area and want to come help me wet sand lol lol
it doesnt look too bad. i think those 15 inch wheels are really ruining it though and thats why people have negative comments. i want to see it with some cleaner/better wheels
I think it has a kinda cool look to it. The black around the wheel wells is pretty sweet. I wouldn't do it on my car, but my opinion does not matter when it is your car.
Glad to see you stuck with what you wanted and didn't listen to everyone else. You being happy with your car is the only important thing.
Seems like a lot of people like flipping out and insulting people's cars. Let it go, you don't like it so don't do it to your car. You don't have to say you love it, but don't put other people down for doing what they like. Its a cars paint people, let it go and let him do as he pleases with HIS car...

Well the most important thing is whether or not you and your old lady like it.
That being said...
I dunno man, I don't think I'm a fan of the final product. The photochop and the video game pic both gave the illusion of the car being so fast it was violently ripping the paint off as it broke the sound barrier...y'know?
This final product doesn't have any real flow to it. Maybe it's me not being able to leave my work at work (I'm a graphic artist), but I think the painter did nothing to make it look fast. If anything, the huge blocks of black around the wheel wells detract from the overall sleekness of the car--making it look chunky. If there's any way you can piss and moan til the guy takes it back, I would seriously minimize the the black around the wheel wells, if not lose it entirely, and make the passenger side symmetrical with the driver's. I don't understand the asymmetry here. I mean, I have a powerbulge hood--so I can appreciate the idea, but I think it was poorly executed.
If you can get the whole thing shot orange, I can probably create artwork files for the stripes and email them to you. Take them to a local sign shop, and there's your high quality vinyl graphics. Just an option.
hey guys good comments. well the finished paint job is'nt what we wanted. we wanted it to be symetrical and we wanted orange behind the wheels. he said he thought he'd ad some flavor to it for us and surprise us....... ya we were surprised. anyway i will probably strip some of it down and do it my self this winter. oh and the attached pic of the rim is the rims i have for the car which i will be putting on soon. i have detail guy coming out this weekend to see what he can do about the fish eye and bondo bumps........ ya bondo bumps anyway i'll take some pics after they get done and post them this weekend. thanks
who painted your car for ya? Obviously not a good choice. I wouldn't use those rims either, maybe i will change my mind once their installed. i wouldn't go with them if it was me.
i had seen some of this guys work on motorcycles and it was really good... guess he should stick with motorcycles........... and the rims... i have two sets the other set is directionals with the same design as my paint job but i have to get those refinished. so i have options, but i like the ones pictured above thoa. but my view might change as well.. we'll see.
hey man, its not that bad... just not sure about the tribal black.... not that you couldn't use tribal on our cars.... a member here i believe its TundedPort355 has tribal ghost flames. just seems like the tribal is too bulky and not thin tribal markings ya know. BUT i love the orange black combo. Slap some rims on and get it together then post some new pics. That was some opinions can have the chance to see it finished. Unique camaro man

ok paid a detail guy to come out this weekend(160$) and he did pretty good. got most of the fish eye out and some of the orange peel. looked all right.
ok i'm down to wheels........... which ones look better. the directionals i have to have refinished. i can do the them orange and chrome or like they are now black and chrome. or the ones with the holes in it. few more things to do and i'll have it all wrapped up. then it's on to my wife project. thanks to everyone who keeps giving input. this thread has been a lot fun.
i like the orange not to crazy about the tribal stuff, but she does look good. if i were to pick rims i would go for the chrome ones with the black inserts because they match the look of the car, posts for pics of it with whichever rims you decide on tho
From that third picture that you posted 2 posts up i think it looks pretty decent, i wasnt a fan of the first few pics but that one looks pretty good, i think i would be more sold if there wasnt the black over the rear wheels but it looks pretty good.
I think the wheels are messing it up right now.....put some 17's on it and drop it a little along with some window tint and you will have yourself a pretty cool car
saber totally agree, we did'nt want the black like that. the painter said he thought he'd "surprise us with a little flavor" we were so bummed to see that. i might repaint that area this winter.
and 85 trans am freak..... windo tint is coming and dropping it 1.6 with the new rims on the way as well. thanks guys.

If that was the case, and you really dont like the back like that i would have had him paint it straight orange on the spot, i would not have taken the car if i was half way satisfied with the paint job. Paint is a pretty big part of the car, and if your not 100% satisfied with it than dont settle until you are. I really like orange camaros, i think they stand out and i think that the begining two black spots would look pretty good with some blacked out tint and possibly some rims. Last time i checked it was your car, not the painters.
i agree but problem is i dont want this guy touching my car again. i know how to paint(pretty good actually) i just did'nt have a place to paint as we had just moved in to a new house. this winter i will probably go over some things and make it look a little more to my liking. i had seen this guys work on bikes and it looked pretty good. after seeing how he painted my car.......... i would'nt let him paint my wifes ugly little chiwawa's nails ... that was funny lol
I think it looks pretty good. The only thing is you definately need to lower and and get some nice 17"s. Those stockers and the other two wheels in the picture won't look good in my opinion.
ya i like the rims with the design. pretty sure i'll go with those ones and put the other ones on my wife camaro
rk82, that is an olds 403. it's built up pretty good. it ran low 12's last summer over the winter i added some things and i'm hoping to see high 11's next time i'm at the track. next winter i'm pulling and going all forged with nos.
it had a lot of orange peel, fish eye, bondo in seems, previous paint showing through, ground effects missing half the screws etc. it was just bad. i have my work cut out for me this winter redoing a lot of it. he was a nice guy but i think he was a little over his head.
i love orange. favorite color so in thinking of making my car orange and black. ill post a photo of the paint job that im thinking of getting.
im no to sure whos car it is. if its your car. i love your paint job!
