Has anyone tried the black projector headlights off ebay? I think they would look great but i havent heard anything about them. Any input would be apprecieated.
I bought them, just havent mounted them yet. I modded my buckets, just need to sand blast and paint them. 1 or 2 people had them on this site. 1 kept them, the other removed because they were too dim. As for myself, I dont really care cause Im going to use them with HID kits. And even if they are dim after, I dont care, because all I want is the look.
As far as I know, no pics were taken by anyone yet.

I think they would work well for the halo/angel part of the headlight. On my non-black ones, the halo with light up the entire headlight and the halo part will only be slightly brighter. My solution is going to be to run a city light 194-led and light up the inside of the headlight a different color, it should be a cool effect.
But for actual headlight beams, I would imagine it would suck compared to the chrome ones. Black doesn't reflect light. Black is going to absorb more light and create more heat inside of the headlight over a chromed out headlight. Enough heat to make a difference, i don't know. If you get them, I would watch the headlights if you got any halogen bulb that puts out more light than stock output, then also watch the wiring/connectors. Be looking out for the lense separating since its just rtv-ed or glued on. Be looking for the wiring and connectors melting. Should be fine with 65 watt bulbs though.
Do what you like but think of the risks. I don't know if the risks are that great even. The headlights would definitely look good with the right car. I don't know if there is much point in going with these headlights on a firebird though. Camaro I could see. Who am I to talk though, I got angel eye headlights.
they will work just fine i have 600K HID's on my T/A with the crystal "projector type" headlamps. All i would say is if your running HID's w/ these type of lenses you will not be able to put the rubber "boot" over the bulbs to prevent water from getting in the lenses because of the igniter wires etc that run to your igniter box. Trust me i got water in my lenses the first time it saw drizzle. I'm getting the black ones now since the crystal ones have dew in them. if anything you will need to silicone the outside. good luck.
Be advised... I just got my black projector headlights and they do NOT fit right. I am going to have to cut out the back of the headlight pocket, so the new ones fit. The little round housing that protrudes from the back of the headlight where the bulbs is, is too big to fit through the hole in the headlight pocket. But on the good side, they are going to look good when I get them in. I think they will end up looking the best on black cars, or Z28s because of the blacked out headlight opening. I am not using them for the main lights, but for the brights.
Heres a different listing for 6x4 projectors from the same seller. Should fit a camaro as one light can go into many different cars. Look at the pic, the show its from mutliple angles. Also the "H4" is the socket type. Circle with three tabs. H1 is a circle with a flat in the side.
So you need to get a hid lighting kit for h4 bulbs. Because thats what the projectors call for. It looks like the xenon hid bulbs the kit come with has an extra regular light on it. So if you where to get some h4 xenon bulbs. They should fit into the projector properly so you can get the rubber seal on.

is misleading, there is 2 hid bulbs and 2 regular bulbs, they paired them up so one socket will have one hid bulb and on regular bulb. The hid will be the low beam, and the regular bulb will be the birght, because hid would not work as a "bright" cause they take a while to turn on, so you wouldnt be able to flash to pass.
If you get this kit, it should plug right into two of the projectors ( the outer ones) And then you will just have to use a regular h4 bulb for the birghts ( inner) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GENUI...4621QQtcZphoto
I installed some aftermarket headlights on my Caliber and had some fogging. If you get aftermarket assemblies run a bead of silicone around joints to stop it from fogging up.

OK.. heres the scoop. I bought the 4 piece regular 4x6 kit on ebay as well as the black projector ones. Neither of the kits will fit due to size of the collar on the headlamp housing being too big. NO BIG DEAL, if you have a dremel and several cutoff wheels. You have to cut the tabs on the metal "bucket" that the headlamp sits in (when you pull your headlamp out you'll see what I'm talking about). AND, then you'll have to notch out a little spot for that gay *** city light protrusion to go through as well. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get all 4 of my lights put in. As for the regular style headlamp replacements, I found some on ebay without the city lights, and I use those as the regular lights and the black projector style ones as the brights. On the black projector ones, I trimmed off excess rubber crap on the dust cover for the housing for easier fitment, and totally eliminated the city lights then hot glued the hole closed. I also trimmed off excess rubber from the regular ones. And one last thing... this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...232061019&rd=1 requires trimming on the housing for proper fit. The 4 little ridges that the headlamp rests on need to be trimmed so that the little step is even(I'll post pics later). Here is a temporary pic taken with my cell phone. I'll take a better one after work. I still have to put my clear headlight covers on too.
damn you mean to tell me those black projectors can't just go straight in? i really wanted to get those for my car, they look real nice but it seems like such a hassle to put them on.

Hmm.. try to get one. My friend offered me for about 50 and I almost get it. I'll just leave the trimming to the experts though.
yeah i just got these same black projector lights for my 84 and cut the bracket out to fit them in they fit good and connected easily but with in 15 min of useing them they fogged up ??????? any thing i can do ?
??? well i took em out stuffed towels in them the clear the fog and putback together and sealed with silicon and the smoke up again even worse they filled with smoke a wast of 70$$$$ i even tried the opposite of taking out a small light it has and ran it like that and still the fog says there .. the box says there semi sealed beam halogen bulb if that helps
