If you are requesting pictures or asking a question the Member Rides in not the right section to post. Please post those in the main Appearance and Detailing Forum.

For the rest of you, keep the flames/personal insults to yourselves.

I'll just say this now... it looks horrible and I've never seen a car on this site with that kit.

Not a problem, just trying to get it out there in general about posting in the proper area. You are not the first by any means, nor are even close to the last

You won't find many people with Aftermarket Body Kits on Thirdgens, generally it is found it is very hard to improve on Thirdgens looks using aftermarket front ends/ground effects. Most people go with just hoods and spoilers.

Actually, I kinda like it. I would never put it on my 91 though. I've been seriously considering getting the kit for my next project. IMO you'd need plenty under the hood to back up the look....a stock 305 just aint gonna cut it.

I think this could work with a little modification to the front bumper. the side skirts and rear look good IMO. i would think if you trimed the "air splitter" off and rounded in the fog light area you would have something here. perhaps someone wants to photo shop something similar?

i really dont like the front bumper, but i you put it on a camaro with the rear and the side skirts, and left the front bumper stock with a 91-92 front spoiler, i think that would look good.

Re: Sweet firebird body kit!!!

I'm not sure that this, at least the front fascia, is intended as a direct "bolt-on" install for 91 and 92 firebirds. Considering how hard it is to come up with a new fascia for these, I'm surprised than nobody's come up with a front fascia that is a dirce bolt on, makes use of the original fog and directional-lights while looking to evoke more of a 1992 Trans-Am look by retaining a square flush-mounted headlight housing.

I'd bet you that they'd fly off the shelf.

^ We heard you the first time....

I agree with some of the others, I like the side and rear much better than the front. The front looks a little too gawdy, and the whole package doesn't blend well with the Ram Air II hood IMO. I'd like to see that kit with that Japanese hood that's floating around, either that, or the stock flat hood....

I kinda like it. I am considering getting it for my 89 firebird. My front bumper is cracked in half anyway. It isn't the best looking kit, but I haven't found many others out there, other than custom one-offs.

We'd need more details in order to assist. But honestly, a lot of aftermarket body kits don't seem to be built very well for the cars. Customization and bondo is often needed to make it right.

My biggest problems with some of these kits isn't neccisarily how they look (though I don't like it) and more that many of them don't even fit the car they are designed for.

Re: Sweet firebird body kit!!!

This is so a$$ backwards. After cruising some of the 'Japenese' f-body pictures and sites I have yet to see any with aftermarket gfx. Granted they did coin the carbon fiber hood, but then again the words carbon fiber and bad are never used in the same sentence. I know the old saying is if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it. Well my saying is, no idea is better than bad ideas. OE parts FTW!

Their is a thirdgen firebird owner around the corner who has that kit on his bird. I was going to take pics of it this last weekend and post it to see if anyone has ever seen it. I think i am going to document his car (with his permission) rather than ridicule it. Its not my cup of tea but its interesting nonetheless.

This isn't just slapped on, I've fiberglassed it all in and reformed the original body lines and smoothed the joints.

The Flat hood does help a little, I didn't want to go too far, but I think it looks nice. Hopefully the larger picture works out.

Here's a side shot before the winshield or interior were replaced.

the reason I like this bumper is because it provides alot of cooling and intake opportunities with having grilles in the bumper, also for boost guys, an intercooler would go great on the front...

That is why I am seriously considering it for my next project. I have an 89 2.8 base model bird that I'm planning on dropping a boosted LSX in.

same here, I'm planning to boost my LB9 and that bumper would work great...honestly, I'd settle with a modified stock bumper (i.e. a HOLE cut in the front to accommodate an intercooler) but I haven't seen anyone do this to a bird bumper...

Re: Sweet firebird body kit!!!

as GM found out when they switched to 4th gen from 3rd gen and their sales started falling, you really cant improve on the third gen looks. the third gen 82-91.5 are about the best looking firebird styling there is. started going down hill with the round nose and flat spoiler. when they changed it so much so radically for the 4th gen, firebirds started getting confused with ford probes and rice runners from japan.
