Re: IROC-Z decal placement need measurements

If you get the door decals from http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/gm.htm#chevy they come already templated with markings for a perfect factory location placement. No need to measure. Just hold it up, line up the marks, and your done.

Re: IROC-Z decal placement need measurements

John,
can't be sure of the 85-87 placement, but I know there's no "official" placement for the 88-90 door logos. I purposely pay attention to this, and I've seen SEVERAL cars that appear to be factory original, and the placement is always a little different.

.....if it were me, I'd just eyeball one side to where you like it, and then measure so you can match the other side. If you're set on finding some factory measurement, check with ScottMoyer over on Hist/Resto.

wow that's just mean, I didn't think he was being rude at all.. oh well while your claybaring it see if you can claybar that silly looking spoiler and hood off of there. In all seriousness though your car could be so nice if not uglified with those two things.. the hood, while I think its the ugliest hood ever made, is debatable because some like it.. but that wing has no place on a camaro..

hood is a must. stealth ram was rubbing up against the stock one and scuffing the polished finish on the ram manifold.

Lordmetal I'm not trying to be a **** I'm just saying that car could look a million times better.. honestly I can't see that thing winning a trophy at a real car show.. well maybe an award for most vomit-enducing or most creative use of a towel rack, but I mean come on even you know that spoiler is just plain goofy looking... I mean arn't you embarassed to be seen driving around in it? Don't people look, point, and laugh?

Re: IROC-Z decal placement need measurements

These are the directions that came with my stripe set.

85-87

The door decals are located 2-5/8" from the top of the door ground effects to the bottom of the letters. On the drivers door the bottom corner of the I should be 5-3/4" from the front edge of the door when measured in a straight line at the bottom of the letters. On the passenger side the top corner of the Z should be 6-1/2" from the edge of the door when measured in a straight line at the top of the letters.

88-90

Use same measurements, reversed from the rear of the door.

I used a crayon to lay out the lines giving myself an 1/8" margin and eyeballed it.

Hope this helps.
