I have a perf rpm air gap. The intake is new but I've gotten some rusted water and other stains on the aluminum. Besides carb cleaner, how can I clean the intake so it stays looking new?

I've had good luck using simple green to get the oil and grease off. Next I rub in mothers metal polish with a scotch bright pad then remove it with a cotton cloth. I've also used never dull too, it works decent too but I think the mothers polish works the best. Its time consuming but I've been able to keep my intake looking good after many years of use.
