Polishing Intake

I just started to polish up the intake with roloc pads and removed the TPI tag and sand blasted it down, filled the pits, and painted it black shaving off the tops of the letters for a good chrome look. Planning on powdercoating the runners metallic blue.

Let me know what you think ;-)

Re: Polishing Intake

It looks like you need some more work. There are plenty of threads about polishing on here as it is very possible to have a mirror finish if you are willing to put in the time to do the wet sanding. Search for "polish plenum" and you will find a treasure trove of info. Regarding the powder coat, if its done well that would look smooth.. might want to consider anodizing it also.

Overall, it looks like you've got a clean start. If you have the option, take the plenum off completely and polish from their rather than under the hood.

Re: Polishing Intake

Here's a pic of my polished plenum and runners I did in two days last winter.
Do it yourself (there's a tech article on this site...just do a search).
Good luck !!
