IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

I stumbled across this IMSA hood. The picture is terrible. Anybody have a better picture and know who manufactures it?

http://www.restoreandcustom.com/8292...uot-isma-.html

Also, who manufactures the Super Duty hood?

http://www.restoreandcustom.com/1982...s-super-d.html

I need hood clearance and have had a lot of trouble finding something that isn't totally hideous on a Firebird.

The Super Duty is easy to find...Look at the site sponsors sites.

Showcars is the only place I know of that lists the IMSA hood.

Re: IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

I want to know who actually makes the Superduty hood. I already know who sells it.

Got a picture of the showcars IMSA hood? The showcars website sucks. Their picture looks like an every day Formula. The picture is so bad it's like there is something to hide.

The IMSA is basically just a mirrored Formula hood....

As for their site...Yeah. Sucks big time. As long as the product is good, I don't care.

I could say the same about a certain TGO Sponsors site. Looks decent, but very hard to find anything, with all its half-assed item descriptions. But as long as the stuff is god & he sells me the right thing? I don't care.

Re: IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

Here are two of the ISMA hood on my car. Mine was made by Baldwin, but they don't make them anymore. Until I saw that restore and custom link, I didn't think that you were even able to buy the hood anymore.

You need to move your hood latch down.

No, I don't think that it's the hood latch. Look at everything else on the hood, it all lines up. Just the very front edge is curled up. Look's like the hood is slightly deformed to me.

Re: IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

These guys had them in stock last year when I asked them about the hood: http://www.fiberpartsconcepts.com/1289627.html

The IMSA hood, as said is basically a mirrored Formula hood (I think they look fantastic on firebirds). You should buy one ASAP and get pics lol

Keep your eyes open in your neighborhood for a silver 'bird with one.

There was one around there a couple years ago, when I lived there.

I saw it once, I don't think it was silver though, been a while. Definitely the rarest hood of hoods though lol

Re: IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

I'd like to get feedback from anybody who has done business with Showcars up in Canada. I've heard lots of horror stories about them.

My car already has the IMSA-style fenders and I want the matching hood. I am considering buying a Super Duty hood and filling in the front scoop.

Re: IMSA hood and Super Duty hood

I wish to apologize to all the guys who asked for pics of the IMSA. I'm just a shiftless lazy person and I haven't taken any in ages. I did move the car to the center of my two-car garage. Now there are five cars parked on the street (and two in a shop and another two at the farm.)

I will start working on it very soon and I promise to post pics then. I even ordered a folding engine crane, large sandblasting cabinet, and MIG welder. I suppose I'll be forced to work on it now that I've spent so much on equipment.

Cheers!
