The door ground effects don't use brackets. They are fiberglass and have studs screwed into them.

Every part of the ground effects has a metal bracket that's the flaw with this model because when you take the ground effects off they could be deteriorated. The studs are screwed into the bracket and the ground effect to keep it together better

Re: How do i take the belt moldings off my 88 trans am and where do i get new bracket

The 85-90 style Trans Am door ground effect pieces don't use any type of mounting bracket at all. The studs screw directly into the fiberglass. If you've got a metal bracket behind them you don't have the original ground effects on the car.

Only 91-92 Camaros and Firebirds used metal brackets on the door ground effect pieces.
