I Could Use Your Opinions To Finish The IROC

Hey all, Got the clear park lights on and they look MUCH better than the old dirt filled lights. I want your opinions on ANYTHING if it looks out of place or just not good. THANK YOU!

What i'm stuck on is the clear side markers. Here's a pic of both clear and yellow. maybe the clear's a little much?

Re: I Could Use Your Opinions To Finish The IROC

Also made some covers for the engine bay.

Another thing i could use outside thoughts on is what and where do i want to place some emblems if at all. This is what i got left.

Maybe something like this and then the two IROC-Z emblems on the aluminum or is that too much?

I know i'm stressing over these little things but i pay VERY close attention to detail and every little thing helps determine the final product (which i hope is A+++++)

Yea i know but it would match the dash emblem. I was also contemplating putting the nose emblem or one of the door handle emblems on it.

Yea the yellow's staying till i get the 17's on it. Then i'll see how the clear looks against the chrome rims.
And yes the whole car was full of dust and fingerprints lol. Here's a pic with the louvers CLEAN.

True.. i never understood that bieng that it was no longer a z28 why did chevy stick z28 on the dash.. probably cheaped out and thought it was more cost efficent or whatever.. ill ask obama since he calls the shots now.. anyway that nose emblem might look pretty good between the centor console lid and window switches or possibly on the ash tray cover.. just some ideas

Re: I Could Use Your Opinions To Finish The IROC

Nice car man, really good job on it. My only suggestions would be to get rid of the msd sticker, but that's only my personal opinion. Some people like it, some don't.

I also like the yellow side markers better. Yellow fits the orange a bit more.

and that z28/iroc emblem would look better here I believe.

Re: I Could Use Your Opinions To Finish The IROC

Thanks Jimmy i'll try it there, wouldn't hit the hood either then.

Yea the MSD sticker was gone last night when i ripped it off lol. but i kind of made up for it. I put all the decals (sounds better than stickers lol) on the cover i made. Now if i get tired of looking at them i can take 2 screws out and put the new decal free cover in its place.

Now...i could put the repro emblem on the console like this...

Or i could drill two holes in the cover and screw an original on (found it in a JY)...

I put the dash emblem in the circle above and it looks great! The hood don't touch it either. I also put the silver nose emblem between the switches and console lid. I think i'm gonna order a satin billet shift knob too, should kinda tie into the emblem.

PM me a price lordmetalz28

What does the rear look like?

Thing I would do If it was my car.

1. Black out the clear side marker lights ( with a paint gun if you have ...use clear and some black and then wetsand/buff)(if no paint gun then uses vts night shade)

2. New wheels, either polished or Black . But some simple 5 spoke with a combo of 17/18's
3. Get a shortie antenna or shave it ( update radio too)

4. Paint the amber section of your tail lights red.

5. 4th gen batt tray ( gets rid of the ugly but clean rad bottle).

6. Get some clear Fog lights.

Thats all I can think of at this time but very nice car and good progress.

i keep looking at it and i think it looks really off with the fog lights. (being blue) i would definitley put the side clears on with chrome rims. and white lettered tires look too *******. so when you do get new rims/tires i hope there are no plans for those again. love everything else about the car. super super sharp. congrats.

I almost got the 17" iroc reps today, drove down to his shop but they already sold for only 800 bucks AND they only had a max of 300 miles on them. The add was posted on craigslist yesterday.

1. I will put on the clear side markers when i get my 17" chromies. I think the clear will look better than black, but i could black out my old stockers and see what those look like

2. The new wheels are a deffinate, not a thought, i actually have the 1200 in a separate account lol. If you know of anyplace that sells 17" IROC replicas PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!! Custom Wheels market wont get another container in till end of JULY now

3. Where do i get a shortie antennae? (please post a link) And shaving the antennnae is a NO NO as i just got a expensive new paintjob.

4. I like the lights how they are, and i just polished them.

5. The thoughts crossed my mind...

6. IDK about the lights, i might try and get a hold of the guy i bought them from and get some clear lenses for them.

Thanks for the opinions toxic, i look at them all with a very open mind!

ps, there are TONS of pics in my build thread (link in sig)

Thanks dave, your car looks amazing as well!

As stated above i got to get ahold of that guy and get the clear lenses for the fogs.

And the clear sides will go on when i get the reps. I will also paint the stockers black to compare.

OF COURSE there won't be any white lettered tires lol. DO they even make a lettered tire in 17"? Thanks for the opinions

Don at makingitdigital.com. The whole set was really cheap compared to hawks and you get 4 more emblems.

Re: I Could Use Your Opinions To Finish The IROC

blue lights are illegal (as far as i know, you cant have red or blue on the front for police reaons) but i like the wheels you have. i hate iroc replicas especially the 18", its to much damn chrome. the wheels should not be the first thing noticed on a car. engine bay looks great.

are those stock headlights? i see you got the diamond cut turn signals, i have the same ones on my car, but i think they sell a diamond cut headlight to? i know they used to not sure if they still do, but if they do you should get some of those. their not sealed beam and they would match the turn signals. i think its a nice little touch. check ebay.
