| Re: How to Clean/Maintain New Paint? Every major car shjow I have ever been to has had some provision for running water/hose area to wash cars - can't believe this one wold be an exception. Take lots of clean towels, rinse and repeat, let stand wet to soften your bug collection, rinse and repeat again and again, then use a soaking wet towel, do not reuse same one more than 2x unless you can fully rinse it in between. I would not leave them on, the longer they bake in the sun more likely you are to have to work hard to get them off, and maybe get some small marks on your new paint. Best advice I could give is to not be like me, be PATIENT and take your time, let water and soap do as much of the work as possible and only rub lightly.
FYI I also just had my front bumper cap and spoiler repainted (no damage just scraped and not as nice as the rest of the car) - mine will sit for 2-3 months as my right arm is in a cast so cannot do much until then - at least my paint will no longer be "fresh" when I get around to it. good luck |
