what color to paint the engine?

I have my engine out right now and I'm not sure what color to paint what. I think I want to paint the oil pan black and the block silver. From there I'm not sure, I was thinking about painting the heads and intake the same silver and then painting the head covers black.

Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks!

Re: what color to paint the engine?

What i did was pick 2 colors like what you did. I painted the engine black. I painted the valve covers yellow. Got yellow plug wires. I made a yellow firebird sticker and put it on the radiator cover. I painted the alternator chrome and the fan black to make it stick out. I think everything looks pretty good. Go wild really.

Re: what color to paint the engine?

my oilpan and block are silver, heads are aluminum, intake is aluminum. Looks really cool, and easy to spot leaks if you end up with one.

White so oil leaks are easy to find.

I'd go black/silver/shade of body color
