Well as some of you might have seen I was going to sell the car, well I desided to keep it in the stable and just finish it up. Well it started this weekend. I pulled the engine to paint the engine bay and to fix a couple oil leaks that have been driving me NUTTTTTTS. I will be documenting it all so you guys can see. I am still in the air about removing all the brakelines. I am pulling the brake booster but kinda worried about the lined themselves. Actually thinking about removing the Kmember also, not to sure about that one eaither. I will see once I start pulling the rest out today sometime. I found the leak it is coming from the rear oil plug for the cam....BOOOOOO man this has been driving me nuts since it showed its head. You can see in the one pic how bad the oil has gotten all over everything. well that will get fixed. Hope you guys enjoy the updates. It wont be back on the road will after I get back from my Deployment. That is also when it will be getting a cage and S60 rear......Can't wait.
Here it is all striped out ready to clean. all the wiring is out, brake booster and everythign else.

Kind of sucks to pull the engine but if it has to be fixed then it has to be done. You've done a lot of work to it, hate to see you not finish it. Good choice.
I think I am going to be ripping my engine out too pretty soon here. I have an oil leak that I need to find, and I want to paint my engine bay black like yours...
I don't have a job, so I have the time to do it. But I do leave for the Air-Force in February, so time is kinda limited.
Good to hear your keeping it, thought about getting rid of my money pit project but decided to finish up the bugs and re do the interior. Gonna keep mine since I dumped so much $$ into it
How did you sand & prep the engine compartment, for paint? Or did you have a body shop do it all?
I did it all myself., All you need to do is get everything out of the way, DEGREESE, DEGREESE and DEGREESE again, sand then whipe down with paint prep. Painting is easy follow the can direstions. Poof there it is. I did all the welding up the holes and all.
Well put a few fresh coats of paint on the engine to make it look as good, took a few pics. Hope to have the engine in this weekend. Will be waiting on parts to put the rest in after. I HATE the VC but they will due till I get the ones I want.
well I got alot dont this weekend, I got the engine put back in and most of the stuff put back together, MAN IT LOOKS AMAZING. Sorry for all the pics and such guys I know I am post whoring...LOL, the wiring it going to be the PAIN!!!!! And I fixed the few scratches that I put in the paint.....LOL
Well I was going to leave it alone till I left but I couldn't...LOL it is all back together, minus some little interior work. But I can be at ease I dont have to mess with it when I get home. It turned out really good I am pleased

And on the alighment question yes it would, but this car never gets driven other then weekends and in the 8 years I have owned it I have never had to adjust the camber, so I am not to worried about it.
on a side note I think I am going to make a cover plate for the computer and wiring....I hate the way it looks.
