some drunk douche bag backed into my car the other night and caused about $2500 in damage to my car(front driver's fender and front clip),i've never been threw this so i was wondering if anybody on here could take a look at my vb garage(link in sig)and maybe give me a rough estimate of what you think my car would book for, cause' a couple people have told me that the insurance company might try to total my car out cause' 3rd gens dont book for much, but i have done ALOT of work to it and have receipts for the majority of what i've done and i have a heck of alot more than $2500 into it so i definately dont want to total it out,any help would be appreciated.
get classic plates for it, probaly too late now but i have them for mine, the plate is $100 and its insured up to $6000 one thing thats nice i dont have to pay for registration every year and my insurance is $12 a month for it.
I dont know how the hole insurance/totaling thing works but I think you can usually buy the car back after it has been totaled??? and, where did the estimate of $2500 come from. The way I see it you may need about $500 worth of parts (getting them used) and maybe another $500 for someone to paint it. looks like such an easy fix, hard to believe it would be totaled!! good luck man!

The $2500 came from an estimate from my local chevy dealership, and yeah i couldnt see them totaling it out over this either but ya never know, the appraiser was here yesterday and said i should here from the insurance company by tuesday,so we'll see what happens
looks like you need a fender, some repair to the bumper, maybe a new cover, i cant tell from the pics and some paint. If that costs 2500 bux i should quit my job and fix cars.
Dealers are the worst place to get repairs done, they are so friggin expensive it nuts. Unless the insurance doesnt total it, use that price and have them cut you check and take the car elsewhere.

yeah no doubt,i should get into fixin cars to,the appraiser sent me a letter and he estimated it at $2,198.26 to fix it using aftermarket parts, and the guy @ the dealership said my car should book for around $3000 in its condition before the accident so i should be ok.
