i am loving all the ideas being thrown out.. but you guys are making it hard for me to decide how it should be done! now i can't decide if i like the new angle better or not..i like how i had it.. but the new way is almost kind of cool too.
i think i like the original angle better though.. i think i will stop by our local print place and see how much it would cost and if they could cut me a decal the original style but with the iroc logo in the stripe.

I think that the last two images i posted are the best, i dont think there will be any better ways to angle the stripe. So if it helps, you only have two choices lol.
I'm a big fan of that stripe, I think the first style with it meeting the way the spoiler does looks the best. I might have to pirate this one and put Z28 in the stripe. Awesome idea
Not too sure about what you mean by the stripe butting against the spoiler, but this is what i got from your preferred angle. It does have quite a catch to the eye.
Stripe as spoiler meets body.
Close.....I knew I wasn't explaining right & being lazy so........
Matching angle
Butted up stripe
In my 2 ideas, I like the butted stripe better than my first, since it "hides" the different angles between the stripe & the spoiler base (leading edge).

Now i see it. I can say i definitely say the butted stripe looks better. If i had to choose for my car it'd be a close call between the butted stripe and original design. Both imo look really good. Thankfully i wont have to choose, lol im going heritage stripes for my ROC.

i am not really digging how you have the bottom of the stripe getting bigger at the bottom.. it's a little weird for me. BUT, if anyone wants to take this idea and make it to suite their own taste i would LOVE to see pics. i am pretty sure that i will be doing the original stripe design with the iroc logo inside the stripe.. that one looks best imo.

In either case, it is your car and can do with it what you please. Props on coming up with the idea, and it looking good. Thats hard to do. Im just glad i could help clean it up a little. Keep us posted on the final outcome.
interesting, but it doesn't flow with the spoiler right next to it.
Just a suggestion.....
put the back edge of the stripe on the front side of the spoiler - to the mid point, where it would be visible on the side, and then run it into the body at the matching angle. It would tie the two together.
I would keep the iroc name, as long as no other iroc is on the side of the car. Duplication can look tacky.
Running it to the bottom edge of the spoiler looks better than the other, to me

Stripe as spoiler meets body.
Stripe as tailing angle of spoiler.
Well the lower photo describes exactly what I said above, match the rear of the stripe to the front edge of the taillights, that looks much more balanced than the first photo. Later.

i think the second one looks freaking badass. it might be even better if you paralleled the bottom edge to the line in the panel. and maybe, if you really want the "Z" in there, put a reeeaally wide and possibly thin one out of the stripe underneath where it says "iroc," which should definitely stay where it is in that second picture.
or i think if you go with the original design, you should put the pinstripe type thing on the back end as well. it might not look as good on the car as it does in my head though.
i say you use the "butted up" design but leave it all the same width.
Then pull the stripe all the way to the body like in that direction and under the body line, kick it back the opposite way until it meets the body kit piece... Kinda like this ">" on the car

While photoshopping this design on the car, I gave the stripe the exact sideways V shape on the car and it really didnt look as good as the stripe. It killed the way the current stripe goes with the body and the V shape isnt the way to go.
i think the stripe should not be lower than the tail lights it looks good on the silver car but the red car it seems a little off the angle is wrong on the bottom of the stripe but i like the idea

It think the first one here looks great. It just needs a little balance.Maybe by putting the pinsrtipe on the other side it would balance it out.
I would also bring it down to where that body line is.
This is such a cool idea cant wait to see how it turns out.
I like the stripe idea. Here's something I came up with to change it.
The other thing I didn't really like was how the bottom of the stripe ended awkwardly, and how it didn't really match the body line.
My lines are close, not exact, but you should get the idea. The bottom of the stripe would follow the black line on the bottom of the tail lights.

Perfect! The bottom outline stripe really finishes it off.
I knew it looked unfinished when I did it, but couldn't quite picture WHY.
That stripe looks really good i think. I just bought a 91 RS recently and joined this forum. My car is all white, so ive been throwing around ideas in my head of ways to make it stand out and not be so boring lol. Im leanin more towards some side striping or for the hood, but this is a possibility now as well.

I would put IROC-Z on it if I was going to do it. But thats just me, either way, its a cool idea and I like it
it would probably fit well with the stripe being wider at the bottom.. but i personally like it better with the original style stripe. i do like the idea of "iroc-z" better though.
In other words.....Exactly (except the lettering) what I did in Post #54 on Page 3? And quoted just a few posts up from here?
haha. yea it was close to the same idea but hes sayin actually put the back end of the stipe ON the spoiler instead of just up to it. which might be a good idea.

Hmmmmm.....
When I looked at his pic, I saw more of a shadow showing the side contour of the stripe, not the stripe ON the spoiler.
did you ever decide on the final idea and get it painted? I thought this was a cool idea and would like to see it finished and get a full side profile.
i did originally try to lay out a stripe in the front and i couldn't get it looking right. in my opinion the car has too much going on with the angles of the front bumper cover to get it looking right. BUt if someone else wants to lay one out on their car i would like to see if you can come up with a way to do it!
also.. i am in the process of jambing the car and it will probably be spring (or summer at the latest) until the car is painted. money is definitely a big issue.
i like this design the best but what if you made the pinstripe thicker and put the z in the pin stripe. it would kind of be like iroc-z only the - would be the space with your body color. just a thought and someone should try photoshopping it =)
i like it actually. im not feeling the super bee stripes ive never really liked them. maybe dodge shoulda got the idea fro this guy
that has got to be the biggest compliment ever! i know that some people are not going to like it... but i do. i plan on having a decal made so that i can remove it some day if i ever want to put original style decals back on the car.
thanks to everyone on here for the input.. good and bad. all of the opinions can only make the idea cooler in the end.
I think the idea is DOPE. I think everyone should add a little bit of individuality to their car, plus it just makes the car look generally more badass
Slightly darkend car and stripe with reverse italic IROC, to match shape of stripe, IROC same color in stripe. Now that ive done it like this it looks really good inside the stipe IMO. With engine or model type inside the stripe.
would it be possible to put iroc-z in this design.. or would it look too small? i think i like this one best for me.. but it would be awesome to have the z in there too. i also wouldn't mind seeing it with the skinny stripe coming around the bottom of it. maybe widen the stripe on the back part, leaving the same gap between the stripe and spoiler as there is between the stripe and pin stripe. then bring pin stripe to meet the spoiler on the bottom. widening the big stripe even that much may help to fit the z in there..

Reason: after thought
as far as i'm concerned anyone who wants to use the idea is more than welcome. as a matter of fact i think it would be cool to see the different variations and see it on some other cars. if you like it and want try it i say go for it! just post up pics when you're done!
