The first hood very seldom appeals to me. The second hood would be cool for a drag car but not for a DD. Here's how I see it: either the scoop is functional and you will be sucking in water during the rain and bugs or its fake and then it defeats the purpose.

It's a no brainer. The Turbo IROC hood for sure. Those snorkel hood scoops are a dime a dozen.Besides, the Turbo Iroc screams third gen!It makes a cool car look cooler! But it's your ride-do what you want!

love my daytona hood...
although i do occasionally miss the clean look of a stock hood, my daytona hood is SO SWEET!!
its got a nice cowl to it so you get a decent amount of airflow, and if you add the louvers to it, it could almost be stock if you do it right

not the same guy, the turbo one is from hawks and the scoop is off ebay.

i wanted something with a cowl but i dont wanna lose the sickness of the louvers. the turbo hood would be the best one then id say.

if anyone has any other pics for ideas feel free to post

Well get a fiberglass hood and put louvers on it then. They're interchangable. They bolt on the same way onto the hoods that use them. The 85-92 hoods are the same.

I personally would eitehr stay with a stock flat hood with louvers or blisters or go with a very modest cowls, but I think very few cowls look right. THe only one I've ever really liked is the one I've got on my car because it's one of the few I've seen that properly follows the lines of the car.

Most hoods for third gens just dont fit the lines of the car well at all. I'd have gone with a fiberglass flat hood with blisters if i didnt need the hood clearance.

There are lots of cowls of that style... they're all subtly different. I'm real picky about it and I've seen some that are close and look good, but not as good as this one. I actually bought it off a friend after admiring it on his car for a couple of years.

It's a Champion Fiberglass hood.

Here's another angle. I cant wait til I get the car repainted and it actually matches.

I would stay away from either of those hoods that you posted...go for a regular 3" cowl or the SS hood, obviously you know what I went with
