Decals, Stickers, lets talk rice :)

Dispite my topice title, I am just interested in the best place and price to get a CAMARO sticker for my front windshield or rear hatch.

Also I am considering have this local airbrush guy who does cars, AirBrush my name on the Drivers Door. Whaca think bout that idea?

Also, the only place I ever plan on sticking a sticker is under the hood of my car, thats not rice or tacky is it?

If you're gonna airbrush your name on the door, I just hope you drive nice all the time..

I think too many stickers under the hood, and any stickers at all on the exterior can be tacky.

I say do what you want, who cares what others think.I will tell you that I think and its only a thought, you might get tired of the name on the door so before doing anything like this just think about it.if its still what you want then go for it.Theres always a critic if you look hard enough.I assume your thinking of just a little name and not something that covers the door?

I put a silver CAMARO decal across the top of my windshield the other day and it looks great. I bought it from ebay, it is vinyl and has individual letters. When i got it in the mail i wasnt sure if i was going put it on because i didnt know if it would look good, but now i am glad that i did. Plus, some ricers say that it adds like 15HP, thats only about a dollar per HP

I had a CAMARO windshield sticker that I got on eBay. It came off with the ice scraper last winter. I emailed the guy and he replaced it for free, but I haven't put it back on. I forgot the user name, but he owns vinylguy.com if that helps. I don't think a windshield sticker is rice, as long as its on the right car. My definition of rice is when people put "Type R" badges on a car that isn't. So as long as your car is a REAL Camaro, I don't think its rice. As for airbrushing your name on your door, I think that would look.. well, stupid. Why would you want to do that anyway? I have no preferance on the sticker under the hood. Do what you like, its your car.

No this would be my name "Michael A. Key" in small script print about 1 1/2 or 2 inches underneath the window, like on a fighter Jet in the Armed Services!

Well I have a windshield sticker on my TA right now. I got it when everyone else my age in high school started getting the windshield stickers. I was very upset with the horsepower gain though...so I think that I am going to try another company's sticker...lol. Well...for real...I actually got bored of it...and I dont really like the looks of it any more. It is a custom sticker done at graffix dezine(those who live on Long Island will know the company I am talking about). Well It is a black strip and in red writing it says Pontiac Racing. It isnt block letters though. It also has the two checkered flags on each side of the writing. When I first got it I really liked it...but now I got bored of it...and I dont really like the looks of it as much any more. Now I am thinking about just getting a tint strip. I dont think window stickers are rice...as long as you dont go overboard. If you start putting stickers on your car...such as Nismo..and V tech(especially on celica's like I have seen) then going all out and puttin the brand of tires you have, and every add on brand sticker..then I dont think it is rice. I have seen some cars who even put numbers on thier doors...like they actually drive race cars...lol. Well my friend has a stang with a tint strip...and in the center of the windshield he has a small pony in silver. I think it looks great. I was thinking about doing the same with my car...but instead using the screaming chicken instead. Let me know what you think.

Semi funny story concerning windshield stickers. Last year at a car show me and a couple of my friends were watching the cars leave and this guy pulls up to the corner with a 4th gen with the big CAMARO windshield sticker. We were all like "Gee, what kind of car is that?" and the guys girlfriend sticks her head out and yells "it's a Camaro, is'nt it cool" The guy grabbed her back into the car and looked really emabarassed as he knew we were being *******s. Okay maybe it was funnier in person.

That said I'm not a big fan of a bunch of crap all over the car. But as others said it's your ride. I'm sure theres plenty of people who don't like what I did to mine.

I think if you have a Z28 is is ok to put a Z28 banner on your window or maybe Chevy Racing. It's also pretty cool when you have a manufacturer's name on it like SLP or Edelbrock, as long as you have plenty of preformance parts to back up that name. Also not too big, those banners that cover half the window are ugly as rice. I have a few stickers in the lower corners of my windshield (Accel, Edelbrock, & Mr. Gasket). I'm thinking of an Edelbrock windshield decal, and on the back a Chevy Racing decal with a dog that say "Any Time Baby..." About the name. I woulden't do it, but if I saw someone with it done NOT SO THEY LOOK LIKE RACE CARS, I would think it looked kinda cool.

He also have 15 or 16 inch American Racing chrome rims but his car is my favorite third gen around... well... my 2nd... there's a guy around here that drives the absolute BEST LOOKING Camaro I've EVER seen... it is silver... with 2 pink... yes pink stripes... trust me it sounds bad but it i had pics u would ur jaws would drop... it has a 4" cowl induction hood on it... dual exhaust... dark limo tinted windows all around... i dunno what size engine it has in it but i know it's a z28 ... a 91 or 92... but... the only bad thing is... the sticker on the back window... a BIG bowtie... covers almost his whole back window...in it it says FEAR THIS or somethin to that effect.... i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! but other than that... I personally think a windshield sticker (if it's not letters cut out of a huge peice of vinyl) adds to the look of a car. I used to have the slanted "CHEVROLET" with the red bowtie out beside. I have since changed it to "BASSETT RACING". I designed the tree, and the fonts myself, and I have the decals on my both my cars, my Z71, and my car trailer. Here's a pic of my 82 with the decal.

As for my stickers, I am planing on getting a new crate engine and all, when everytime I buy somethign from Elderbrock they give me stickers, so did K&N and I was just thinkg sticking like the Holley sticker I got and the GM Performance sticker on there in front of the Fan Shroud, no more than like 5 of them. I dunno Just a thought. As for the otehr, I do plan on the camaro decal across the top windsheild if I can find one 3 1/2 inches or 4 inches.

Stickers can look bad or good depending on the taste of the person viewing them. Personally I really don’t like them but I did have this one on my RS.

Thats prefectly tastful though. Its not a big screaming LOOK AT ME I MUST BE COOL with EYE CATCHING COLORS sticker. You only stick those stickers on cars if you take your car on a truck bed to the drag strip. Daily drivers don't need to be driving around in eye sore cars.

Thats the camaro sticker I'm looking for MetalliCamaroRS. I love it! Can't wait to get mine.

In my humble opinion, no graghics please. Graphics detract from the design of the car and make it look like a billboard. It's just visual clutter. That includes the famous Firebird hood decal. Decals are a marketing gimic. Racers have decals because they represent sponsorships. Let the car have a clean purposeful look.
