Are Torq thrust 2 rims clearcoated

Just bought some torq 2's and need to know the best way to keep them clean. I used some wheel cleaner on my last rims and it made the clearcoat a dirty yellow color. Then I read the back of the bottle.

TRY IN A INCONSPICIOUS AREA FIRST.

Yes, they are polished aluminium. You can keep them shiny by polishing them every now and then. Autozone sells a product called Chrome Polish made by i think turtle wax. Any sort of very fine grit polish should shine them up good.

I would think they would dull fast without any protection. Is it worth it to chrome them?

I'm not sure what you mean by "fast" - but I polished mine in April when I got them. The car has been sitting from May until August, and when I recently washed them, they were perfectly nice and shiney...
I wouldn't chrome mine, but that doesn't mean it is a bad idea though...

Maybe I wont have a problem then. I had some american racing 5 spoke wheels on it. When the clearcoat became yellowish I stripped off the clearcoat with aircraft remover. The spokes of the wheel had groves like a record. I sanded them off so the entire wheel could be polished.
First A dremel and a cone shaped brush were used to polish. Then I found a place on the internet that sells polishing wheels. I had my best luck with the polishing wheels. I completed two of the wheels to a show quality finish. Finally I decided I was spending more time and money polishing the wheels so I bought a set of Torq-2's. Hoping they would have a clearcoat and remain shinny a long time.
