About Trans Am Decals??
I am getting my car repainted all black, should I get Silver or Gold decals? Everyone I asked, including Larry (The guy who is doing my car) said that I should get gold. What do you guys think?
If anyone throws up suggestions that would be awesome.. And PICS would be greatly appreciated. Black car/gold decals on 1987 Trans Am.
Thanks guys.

I think black W/gold has a lot of class. Since you are starting from scratch I would paint the areas gold where the decals will go first. Then put the decals over the gold and paint the car, then remove decals and clear coat. You never have to worry about decals again. I could not do mine this way because they are multi-colored.

I'm really not much for gold myself. That's one reason I'll me removing it from my GTA over time. With you painting your car black though, I don't think silver would have the same overall effect and punch like gold would. I can't describe it, but there's just something about a black Trans AM higghlighted with gold that I really like. Which generation bird emblem will you be using?
Good luck with your ride!

I vote gold but I'm a little biased. Silver will not show through from a distance as well although silver and black is a more rare sight. Are you keeping the black GTA wheels because silver decals will match the silver lip of the wheels.

Re: About Trans Am Decals??
Back to topic, my car isnt a GTA its just a black trans am, it used to have gold ground effects, but I bought it and they had been painted over with black.
Idk about the wheels, I want to get them redone, but at the same time.. I want some new ones..
Okay guys, Silver or Gold? Which CAN'T be the wrong way to go, I don't want to regret getting gold in the future.
By the way, my interior is grey, and atm.. so are my wheels.. they have oxidized to crap.. they aren't black anymore. Where could I get these wheels redone?

If you keep the black GTAs then my vote is silver. Any other wheels (especially gold GTAs) and I vote gold.

Re: About Trans Am Decals??
No problem. I just searched "black 87 trans am" in google images. I couldn't find a good one that was all black with gold decals. Usually they have gold ground effects too.

Re: About Trans Am Decals??
Haha, well mine actually did have gold ground effects at one point, but when I bought it they had been painted over. With the new paint job I'm getting the car all black, similar to a GTA, but its just a 5.0 TPI Trans Am. Its going to be nice.
