How many of you Daily Drive Your Thirdgen?
Interested in seeing how many of you guys are daily driving your thirdgens.
Post pics.
Here's mine
1992 Rs about 200k miles on it.
At the thirdgen round up in 2012 when I first got it
and some more recent pics
I did not make those marks on the pavement lol
it was daily driven for two years til recently, unfortunately I haven't driven it in about 6 months because I am swapping it over to TPI. Its back to daily driver dutys once its up again. But not for long because I am going to begin saving for a gas saver daily and tuck this one away.

Re: How many of you Daily Drive Your Thirdgen?
I use mine but don't really drive much as I work from home. No pics yet because that would be embarrassing. It's not a great DD because a/c and heat are gone and all original suspension needs to be replaced and our roads are just the worst. Alternative is the Suburban but not much fun in that although the view is better.

I drive mine daily as well, but the exterior is not picture quality yet. Lol. You'd think it was a typical white trash/r3dneck car if you saw it.

I don't know how you guys do it. I love my car, but I'd resent the thing if I had to drive it everyday. They just aren't that comfortable.

Im pretty comfortable in mine.
What i hate the most about driving it is the risk of somebody hitting me or stealing the car.

Re: How many of you Daily Drive Your Thirdgen?
I drove mine daily in the spring/construction(PA summer)/fall seasons until I bent a pushrod 2 summers ago. Over the winter I would put it in the garage for mods & upgrades. It's not really pic-worthy either yet as it's about 5 different colors right now. Once I get all the engine & suspension work done I'll start on the body & paint work. That way I don't have to worry about messing up a fresh paint job with a dropped wrench.

I did for 10 years up until about 4yrs ago. Shes up to 237,000 miles now and only the last 2,000 have been over the past 4yrs.
Once I finish the cosmetic restoration I'm doing I'll be driving her about 500 miles a month again but just for pleasure.
Pictures are in the link in my sig but here are a couple...

The 91 white RS has been the daily driver since May of 1990. Year round until 2009. Now is daily driver except during the winter. Bought new. Has 385,500 miles on original drive line. No rebuilds.

Mine is a summer DD. 156k and still going strong. Although my husband just bought me a nice low mileage 350 TBI to build up. We will probably be taking her off the road after next summer for some resto mods.

Re: How many of you Daily Drive Your Thirdgen?
I typically daily drive my car, well not when there's snow that is. I have made my car just as comfortable as any modern car. The interior looks 80's-90's, but it feels new. I properly installed a modern gm security system and got VATS to work with it. My stock radio has an aux input and I even installed the uq7 perform. sound option for this car. In addition My seats are a cross between new and old. (New upholstery and wiring, old style) Right now the only thing that makes my drive uncomfortable is having to brake with one foot and keep my foot on the gas to stop it from stalling. (that and the fuel economy) -- although I am pretty good at it
But once I swap to a gen III motor, hopefully some if not all of these issues will go away.

Another 365 daily here. Rain or snow and here is a pic of the car covered in salt this winter to prove it.

I have a special playlist, full of Guns N Roses, Van Halen and the lot. Fairly sure that I'm going to order a Joe Dirt m***** wig to wear around. I already get looks like I'm the king of the trailer park.

Not trying to make it pretty, just trying to protect my baby. Though surprisingly it is coming out a whole lot nicer than I ever imagined!

Local alternative station first started playing Metallica and GNR along with the current groups, now they recently added Led Zeppelin, VH, Scorpions, Priest, and Aerosmith to the playlist.

Re: How many of you Daily Drive Your Thirdgen?
"Do you spray oil or have you painted it to protect it a little bit? I'm in NJ, and this will be the first winter that the car sees as it is my daily driver now. PO did not drive it in the Winter as far as I know. It has absolutely no rust on the underside and I'm trying to keep it that way, so I'm in the process of sanding the floor pans and exposed frame ends and painting them with two coats primer and three coats of rustoleum top coat.
Not trying to make it pretty, just trying to protect my baby. Though surprisingly it is coming out a whole lot nicer than I ever imagined!"
The underside of the car is undercoated and I washed it after almost every drive in the salt. It got old fast washing the car 3-5 times a week but washing is easier than dealing with rust
