Best Buffing Compound???

What is the best buffing compound I can use on a buffing wheel and most importantly where in the world do I buy it? I want to buff my aluminum wheels but the compound I bought at Home depot isn't that good.

The buff wheel has a lot to do with it. For very rough surfaces use a sisal wheel. For medium buffing use a spiral sewn wheel. For fine finishing use a loose center sewn wheel.

For quick cutting Use black emory compound
for fine finishing use white rouge compound.
I don't know if they still do, but Sears used to sell sets of large blocks (about 1" square X 6" long) of four types (black emory, brown tripoli, jewlers rouge, white rouge) in the tool section.
Try tool stores or car shows/swap meets. Several vendors that specialize in buffing/polishing supplies set up booths at the Spring autofair at Lowes Speedway in Concord NC. It's usually held in April.
