Do you need the under hood insulation or can you take it out with no worries?

Took mine off 10,000 miles ago. No problems. Maybe a little more engine noise noticable (GOOD THING!), no dust raining down on engine compartment, probably cools a little better too.

You can remove it, but don't overheat to much, some might say it will cause your hood paint to dull but I say no more than direct sunlight does anyhow.

big benefit to hood insulation is the interior of the car is quieter. some vehicles, such as my crown vic police interceptor don't come with any hood insulation installed from the factory.

if it bothers you, dynamat makes hood insulation that deadens noise better than the general motors original equipment insulation does.

What about if the hood is fiberglass?
My insulation is pretty burnt in the middle heh, will my fiberglass hood be ok without it?
