Car: 1991 Camaro z-28 My passenger side front seat belt is pulled out all of the way and shows no sign of movement. Is it brocken or is it just stuck what can i do to fix it. if any one needs more info to give me an answer just ask i will post it. Please help me Raptere

Once you get any problems with seat belts you have to replace them

Actually the other day i was leaving work and i accidentally pulled the seatbelt to the max and it just got stuck. The whole way home i was tuging it till i got home and just yanked the crap outta it and it came free, and pulled back into place.

The seat belt on my camaro though shows that it aint going anywhere and ill have to replace that one.

yeah my seat belts (where the metal peice plugs into) are pretty beat and scratched. i was thinking of replacing them both...how much do u think they would be at a dealer....or can i get them cheaper online somewhere?

No question about it...replace them. DOn't be cheap when it comes to yours and others safety. I would price out new, bu tthey probably aren't cheap. That if the even still make them.

This happened on my pass. side belt as well. What I did was take apart the overhead trim piece, and pull out the spring loaded mechanism that retracts the belt. I poked a small slotted screwdriver into a hole on the side, which released a latch, and retracted the belt all the way . This was about a year or so ago, and I don't remember exactly which hole it was, but if you pull out the assembly and examine it you'll probably find it. This has happened since, but I've been able to get it to retract by tugging on it a few times - I haven't had to go into the mechanism since. Good luck!

I couldn't get replacement belts for an 83 Camaro, so I fitted competition harnesses. They were about $60 each side.

It needed a simple plate made up to take the top connection, the plate mounts to the existing holes and landing where the belt assemble fits.

The rear mount is slightly offset for a full harness but not noticably so when in use because the mounting for the Camaro is far enough back and not that far off center anyway.

A hole in the floor was needed to take the strap that comes up between the legs.

They are much safer in a crash, each strap is twice as wide as an ordinary belt.

Best of all, they totally freak out anyone at the lights who is feeling like a race. You never need to bother, because the thick belts over each shoulder make it clear you'd smoke em if you could only be bothered with small fry.
