Does anyone have any more information on the special body package , i know it included the fenders like a secong gen trans am and a cool spoiler. Does anyone have any pics or info. I would like to put this spoiler on my 85 trans am . I really like the looks of the spoiler and i cant seem to find much info.
There was a post a while back that asked what spoiler is this? search for that post it had some pictures of the package you are looking for. One was parked out in front of my house the other day,
the spoiler looks more like a Camaro convertable, except much bigger, they also have GFX similar to second generation f bodies.
That looks like a good kit to have. What about the spoiler? Can you still get it?

Hey guys, yeah I have a strange apperance package, not quite like the one pictured above. It came off the show room floor in 89 with the ground effects on the car. Ive tried to research it, but havent come up with anything or anyone else that has them. Ive seen in a book called Camaro & Firebird Performance Handbook, on page 129 they have a pic of a firebird with my same ground effects on it. It says the company's name is Pacific Auto Accessories Inc. Now its my thinking that maybe somewhere along the line they were installed at the factory, since my car was build in CA and this company is in CA. I had a wreck a few years back and a body shop did the work on the front end, when it came to getting the gfx, they had a very hard time finding them and it took about 5 months for them to get my replacement outta CA. I know ground effects only appeared on the TA in a rubber form till 91 when the body style changed then you could get fiberglass ones but they look nothing like mine. The mailing address I have for Pacific is 5882 Machine Dr. Huntington Beach Ca 92649. Ive been meaning to send them a letter trying to research them more, but I havent yet. Here is the address to my website, I might have my old one in my profile. http://www.stealth89.ls1fun.com there are lots of pics on the photo page. The best pic of the front is the one of my car at Pontiac nationals, if you notice errr, there is a small crack, hit a curb and well you see, but fiberglass can be fixed easy
There is a Formula around here that has the same ground effects as your car. My 87 Formula I believe also had the same ones, but I'm not sure as the only parts left on it when I bought it were the Rocker panel pieces and one door piece.
the more i see the spoiler the more i like it.if i managed to get a spoiler like that i would have the body shop fill in the hole for the third brake light. i hate third barke lights they look so cheesy, im glad the 85 trans am i have doesnt have one.
Here is what I have, it was only available in 1988, like the Camaro RS, with the Wing like a Camaro, the Firebird got a camaro like spoiler...
the package was Z20, and I would be highly surprised if it came on the Formula, I guess someone could put a Formula Hood on a firebird and use the decals, but historically, the Formula came with NO ground effects...

Re: 1988 pontaic formula special appearance package
7years later and I still like the look. I saw one before done the same with a 2nd gen style hood.
I really liked the spoiler more then anything but thought the ideal was cool.

Isn't that the way? tell people "Search Search Search" and when they do a search and come up with an old thread to comment on we get replies with "This thread is x years old..."
What the heck do you want, it sounds like the Government... They tell us that we need to be driving cheaper, more fuel efficient cars, and when we do they tell us that they are no longer getting the taxes from the Gasoline. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!

Re: 1988 pontaic formula special appearance package
I never knew that package existed... glad this thread came back up. I really like the spoiler and fender flares! rutters, match that car up with the new style snow flake rims from YearOne and you would have one good looking Bandit car!
