Door Lock Striker

I have an '87 IROC. Are the Door Lock Strikers supposed to have a plastic bushing / spacer (??) on it when new. Neither driver or psgr side looks to have ever had one. Did anyone buy one recently and did it have one? Part number 20464563.

Thanks,
Scott

I've been curious too. Mine doesn't have them either and the doors rattle slightly over bumps. I would like to cure the problem and hope this is it.

Door Lock Striker

The 1987 service manual says the striker is a bolt an washer with only fore and aft adjustment with the addition of a spacer. It says nothing about a plastic spacer although many at the parts store have them.

Note the manual tells how to get up and down movement of the striker, but you need to file the bolt hole in the pillar larger.
