Well you can re attach the felt with some 3m spray adheasive. Or better buy a ABS backed liner. Fiberglass will do that to you, use some not sure calimine lotion ??? or other anti itch cream, try not to scratch, all you are doing is iritating the areas where the glass fibers are in your skin. Give a few days it normally goes away, (unless you have a allergy) but if not call a doctor and ask or look at webmd.com. I think I would of just delt with the liner setting on my head until I got home.

yeah, we look like a bunch of Doctors here....

"Hi I am Dr. Okfoz and my advise for you is to take a bath."

On a more serious note, I would not worry about it, its the equivelant to...giggle:sillylol: ... Itching powder... giggle:sillylol: ... and its just a metter of getting it off your skin, Its fiberboard, which is similar to Fiberglass...

:sillylol: BWAHAHAHAHAHAA....

sorry, this topic actually made me smile

John

Okfoz is NOT a real doctor, and his advise should not be taken as such, please consult a REAL doctor for treatment.... Try not wearing the same clothes again untill you wash them.

haha, sorry your itchy but it's still pretty funny. i woulda paid to see the guy next to me's headliner fall down in his face, then rip it off in anger and start scratching himself furiously:sillylol: but naw it stops itchin soon. i helped build a house last summer and did all the insulation work...it goes away soon.

somebody mentioned 3M adhesive....i heard this stuff breaks down pretty quick in hot weather...i need to repair my headliner before it falls completely in my face (now it just rests on my head)....does this stuff work good? do you just pull off the liner, spray the adhesive and stick back on?

I get this high temp headliner stuff, its similar to the 3M 90 Spray adhesive, but better. I get it from a local upholstery shop that sells cloth and headliner materials.

The spray 90 holds up pretty well in heat, we use it hear to stick the insulation in our environmental chambers. Just be sure to apply a coat to both sides of what your adhering for best results. Don't use the spray 70 not as strong.

unfortunately your headliner material will NEED to be replaced, because the foam backing is actually rotting from the heat. and thus why it is pulling away.

Steps:
1) remove headliner
2) pull off old material
3) using a wire brush remove 99% the foam from the board
4) take your new headliner material and cut it to roughly the size you need, and (Make it extra large) trimming extra off is easy adding to it is hard.
5) laying the new material on the headliner board fold back HALF of it and spray your adhesive on the foam and on the board.
6) lay the material down, and iron out with your hand.
7) fold up the other half and do the same.
8) Trim excess and fold material around edges.
9) re-install headliner.

hope that helps.

Hurricane,

You finally have a good answer to your problem. I am sorry for those others guys just bashing you. Trust me when I say it is just in good, CLEAN fun. Hope you are not too mad.

I put new headliner material in my car (t-top) and used the Super 70. It has lasted almost a year in the Arizona heat, so it does work.

Re: please, please, please help me!!

I know this is old but I figured it had to happen to someone else on this board! F*ck I have this rash everywhere now. It really sucks. Someone should post a note not to touch that crap on the site. It's gnarly stuff, especially when you are starting your first week of your senior year of highschool and you gotta wear a long sleeve shirt in July in California.
