SEAT BELT HOLDER....(where can I get one?)

Does anyone know where I can get a new seat belt holder? As you might be able to see in the pic mine is wore out. I would like to have a new one and not one from a junkyard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not related to appearance and detailing, so I'm moving it. Please check out the other forums.

I went to a dealer and they said that the buckle will come with it and the whole thing will cost $70.00. That seems a little high to me. Especially if I wanted to replace both of them. Surely someone has it for less than that.

just that little strap w/ the buckle and the plastic around it will run 70 dollars?? that sounds like what a whole need seatbelt thing would cost. how does that thing look without the plastic and just have the fabric strap thing dangling there? will that work?

It will work but it will look like a limp noodle and get in the way probably most of the time when you sit down. I don't know about a circumsized seat belt.

I'm pretty sure you can get them for free... they're covered under a recall for our cars.

Just cut the plastic piece off. If you get a new one it's gonna do the same thing in a year or two anyhow.

I have the original ones in my 19 y.o. car that didn't do that. What makes you think new ones will do that in a year or two, 1MEAN92RS?
iroczrockz-- Check the classified section. Someone may have one for sale- or the junkyards. Or check Hawks or Thirdgen Resource.Good luck!

I went to a couple of junkyards this weekend and believe it or not but I had a hard enough time finding a thirdgen much less a seatbelt. The ones I did see we're in bad shape too. I am still looking around. Thanks.

Well, maybe I shouldn't have said "new". I've seen many people replace theirs with pieces from the junkyard, only to have it split just like their old one... and 70 bucks from a dealer seems aweful expensive for that one little piece unless you're making it into a show car.

Later,
Harry

I have found a few on ebay myself but they are usually the wrong color. I am looking for "flame red". I found two black ones for $9.95 with 5 days to go. It would be hard to die them from a dark color to red too.
