Grant Anti-Theft System

My camaro got broken into AGAIN and someone tried to steel it. This time they screwed up the column quite a bit.

I already have a Grant Challenger series steering wheel with the #3196 installation kit used, and I'd like to put a #2001 Anti-Theft System on, so I could pop the entire steering wheel off at night.

Does anyone have this? How do you like it? Does it push the wheel a few inches further towareds you with the extra security adapter on there?

Thanks for any info, I'm looking to purchase very soon.

I saw this on HorsePowerTV a while back. Its for racing but I'd bet it will work fine for street use too.

true, if they really wanted the car, they could have towed it. they couldn't get it started, but I could put it in neutral with out the key (something that they broke lets it do that now), it could have been towed (or pulled with a chain) easily.

Does anyone have a steering wheel release?

Well, if they ever do get it started, they are probably going to crap their pants. I run an open cutout a few inches behind the headers and in my appartment at 3AM that will set off a few alarms. I leave it open all the time, but I close it before I start it at night, and while I drive through the appartments so I don't set off all kinds of alarms (it does when it's open, trust me!)

Since you are shaving everythinng off, go ahead and shave off the door handles and locks

Get some bulletproof glass

That car will be secured, no way to open the door and no way to break the glass, meaning the door will be in-accessable to your average thief, even one that brings his own steering wheel...

They broke your ignition switch. There is a cable that goes from the shifter to the ign. switch that locks the shifter out when the ignition is in the 'lock' position. Yank hard enough on the shifter and it will bust the switch. Normally, it destroys the whole switch rendering it useless. Just in case you needed know for some reason, I guess....
