How do you remove the back seats.

How do you take the back seats out? I looked and there is a star bit on the sides, but there is not enough room to get anything in there to get to it.......... Any helps appreciated.

pull out the seat bottoms, should be stuck to the carpet by velcro. Then unbolt the seat back from underneath. Takes a T30 bit if I remember right.

Velcro???? My seat bottoms are bolted down? Look under the seat from the front, you should see a single bolt. Remove it to remove the seat. Then you should be able to reach the 2 bolts holding the back of the seat on. Piece of cake!

Yea.. apparently some years had velcro along with the front bolt. The rear of the -ss pad has a line of velcro that hooks it to the carpet behind the seatback. Neither my old 84 nor my 91 (both camaros) had velcro but, my 87 firebird did. GM.....

Hehe.... I pulled a nice interior out of a junkyard '82 Z-28, the rear seat bottoms are just a hunk of molded foam, covered by vinyl with a big strip of velcro on the back. No framework, no bolts, nada. Messing around with my '88, I gave a tug on the rear seat bottoms, they didn't budge, lol. Probably bolted then. Interesting that te variations jump from year to year and back again.
