my bag-ectomy is complete now, wiring, sensors, everything, so if anyone is looking for parts, or a how to, post interest here. If anyone is looking for the 90 - 92 in wheel airbag, let me know soon,

A how-to would be great. I am putting my '91 RS interior into my '84 Z28 and am not sure if I'm swapping the entire steering column or just the wheel.

So you removed it completely??? Does that affect insurance?? I would love to be able to take the airbags out of both my 91 camaro and 00 Wrangler. I hate the big stock steering wheels and would rather take the GT Steering wheel approach. Could you PM me a writeup?

I ended up pulling my whole column but I think I'm just gonna mount the wheel on the '84 column. Removal of the airbag requires the removal of four torx head bolts on the back left and right sides of the wheel (two on each side). I used a t-27 screwdriver though I think it probably needed a t-30. I was able to use a screwdriver since I removed the entire column and had easy access to the back of the steering wheel. You will probably need a t-30 bit and socket wrench. Once the four bolts are loose, the bag will litterally fall off. The two little horn switches and their tiny springs also spilled out of mine. After that, removal and installation is the same as a standard steering wheel.
