squeaky seat w/big camshaft

Anyone else have a passenger seat that makes noise at idle with a big cam? It just squeaks and squeaks as the engine lopes through it`s idle...anyone know where a shot of wd-40 would work best? I have plenty of stereo but rarely listen to it, but maybe I should start. I had a second gen camaro and it did the same thing, only difference was it ran on seven cyl`s

turning up the music always fixes the problem, my 81 toyota pickup shakes like a bitch at idle and loud music sorta helps. hah just my two cents

I would hit the seat tracks with WD-40 (or better) for starters. You might also hit the hinges where the seat folds forwards; spray lubricant in the hinge point and then fold the seat back and forth to work it in a bit. I don't have any experience with this issue, so hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Why fix it? I kind of like the sound of this:

"My cam is so radical, it makes my seat squeek!"

Okay, looks like I`m pretty lucky to only have the one noise....I`ll try the lube on the hinge part but I`m thinking it`s coming from somewhere deeper in the seat than that.....also I`ll make sure to turn up the radio As far as the exhaust it`s plenty loud...... enough to drowned out most of the regular creaks and squeaks (true dual three inch flowmasters with a big block huffin thru it) it`s just this one squeak, is loud enough to hear over all it. Off to the garage now

Re: squeaky seat w/big camshaft

using JB80 chain lube in the seat tracks works much better than WD40.

Lol your car lopes so hard the seat squeaks? I think thats pretty badass. Get some rubber to put under the rails of the seat maybe?

I know the feeling. My interior did the same thing at idle. Everything squeaks. Kinda ruins it, ya know?

Re: squeaky seat w/big camshaft

I kinda like a few squeaks because it reminds me of the the cars that the character Stuntman Mike drove in the movie Death Proof (2007).
Love those cars. :P
