Car: 1992 Firebird Engine: forged 357 Transmission: 700r4, 2200-2400 stall, vette servo Axle/Gears: stock pegleg 2.73 drum (temp) | "Started" my door panels I traced the stock cardboard door panel on to some 1/4" hardboard. I am going to eventually cut them out and cover them with vinyl (black). I want to cut out the firechicken on the scrap pieces of hardboard and overlay it on the panel, so when I cover it there will be a 3D look and feel. I need that special stupid tool to remove the plastic trim pieces from the existing panel, which is like $8 at AutoZone, right? But I have a can of 3M 90 adhesive, which was as high as I could find anywhere around here.
Anyone have any experience with what I am about to do? I am looking for suggestions and ideas. I'll be using black vinyl, and potentially a secondary color like gray, white, or blue. I'm no good with a sewing machine but I know people who are, so they can stitch some things together for me if I want. I am gonna put a foam behind the vinyl, and I think I might try putting some carpet on there. If I were still into car audio, now would be a kickass time to put some pods in the door... | | |
